Billy I know you say ricky is above the domestic level guys and I agree but why not fight one of them in a confidence building fight? Ricky's last 3 opponents have been world class why not have an easier fight just to rebuild a bit, and it can't be said they don't deserve the shot because there is now no title on the line. I'm sure ricky wouldn't be too annoyed if he had an easier fight after the recent 3 he's had.

Billy I've not tried to pick holes in all of his opponents i have just tried to give a more detailed break down of his opponents since his first World title fight. I wanted you to just let everyone see the opponents from your point of view instead of just saying 'he's been involved in 10 world title fights in a row' it would be great to have your insight.

My understanding in John, Anthony and Derry being worthy opponents and not Kevin is simple, Ricky has already stopped Kevin and imo Eddie has a different plan for him now.The 3 other are different in style to Kevin and would pose a different set of problems for Ricky to deal with.

Anthony Crolla would try box Ricky and use skill

John Murray is a massive lightweight and would keep coming forward trying to impose his size on Ricky while attacking the body.

Derry Mathews would cause the least problems imo but is awkward and can punch a wee bit

I'm not saying that they are at Ricky's level or would beat Ricky.

It's only my opinion but there is no shame in Ricky having a comeback fight against any of these 3 because it would still sell tickets and would give Ricky a great chance to build confidence.

Imo Lee achieved more than anyone could have imagined given the horrific injuries sustained in the accident at the start of his career, but i have never tried to say that he was at any level. I was just happy that he got to have a career in the sport he loved.

I also said that i want Ricky back at World Level because at the moment there is no one else to keep the big nights of boxing in our country.

I was around Ricky lots during his amateur days when he was boxing for Scotland at the same time as Lee and he was always a nice kid and I was so happy that he finally became world champion because he worked hard and came through some tough times to get there, you played a big part in that and nobody will ever be able to take that away from you. You will always have trained a 2 weight world champion and could be even more.

I don't come on here to troll, I like to give an opinion, I try to be honest and give a reasons for what I am writing but remember it is only my opinion. I am not 2 faced and if i was to speak to you or ricky i would give the same opinion as I write.

I think you get it tight here sometimes and i think it is because you make a statement but don't give reasons for your opinion, imo the posters would give you more respect if you gave them insight into your reasoning.

Even the worst version of Ricky Burns beats Derry Matthews, they are literally levels apart.

Kevin Mitchell is a level above Crolla and Matthews and we all seen what Burns done to him. John Murray got arse raped when he stepped up from fighting cans and Rios used him as a punching bag for 11 rounds.

I don't particularly like Burns at the minute as he ****ed my bank balance at the weekend but it's just my 2 cents.

I do think Ricky needs a couple of fights against lesser opposition, a rematch against Crawford would be mad not that I think he would get one. I would even go for Burns v Harrison.
