Apparently the WBC ordered him instead of Degale for Bikas belt, given his latest opposition it's no real surprise-and of course Chavez Jrs already close relationship with the organisation

A real shame for DeGale. I doubt Chavez would be interested in fighting him for the slot.

Neither do I but I can't help think that if Degale had challenged some top tier fighters prior to now he would have gotten the nod, fact is his opposition has been quite weak compared to the names available

That's what DeGale gets for fighting tomato cans. I am stunned he is still with Fat Mick. On a road to nowhere.

This might actually give him the push to leave Hennessy behind. It's a shame a bigger promoter dint get tht 5 slot as the exposure is there

Took the words out my mouth. Saw the highlights from channel 5 the weekend and even though Mick and Degale thought they had a great chance u look at who he has fought and u cant make a argument for degale

looking at all this **** that excuses Chavez jr your all justifying corruption, Degale has done what he had to worked his way up Chavez has 2 fights at SMW 1 loss 1 win against the same guy and yes on paper the 1st was classed as win but we all know the truth in reality its aload of transparent bias bull****.
Degale was willing to step in for the Pascal - bute fight when first called off. Up until the froch fight Groves record was worse than Degales when it came to opposition.

I guess its best to do away with rankings in boxing means **** all to corrupt organisation and so called boxing fans

It doesn't mean much to the organisations and generally even less to the fans who want to see the biggest and best fights. Degale almost got himself to mandatory position but given his level of opposition would you say he really deserved it? If he were not British, just fighter A with that record? I feel sorry for the guy, not really a fan of him either as a fighter or his public persona but Chavez jr is clearly the money fight, and that is how business works...

I would favour Chavez jr in a very entertaining fight with Bika, and who knows, if Chavez does win and Degale can secure a mandatory shot against him James degale may come to see it as a blessing, at least financially...

If Bika does fight Chavez then logically (so long as DeGale fights someone in the top ten) James gets the next shot later this year.

So will Bika/Chavez happen in May? Then if Degale maintains his ranking you'd imagine he'd be fighting for a world title in Sept/Oct.

Degale would have to actually win his final eliminator first, but all going to plan maybe September, if Chavez Jr is forced to fight a mandatory straight off. I see him taking his title at 168 and using it to gain even more leverage in a huge fight with someone like ward

Yeah you'd have to wonder whether he'd have to take the mandatory or would be allowed a voluntary.

Also, if Bika was to beat Chavez.. that would mean he beat his mandatory so I wonder would he then also be given a voluntary?

If that's the case, Degale still might not get a shot this year.

dude i was gutted for Brian Vera in his first fight against Chavez and beltran against Burns. As i said i guess the rankings mean **** all, makes me fall out of love with the sport. Degale has done what he can concerning his situation which does not justify so called fans to knock him and try justifying the wbc's corruption by saying he dont derserve to fight. Chavez is a cheat who gets away with whatever because of papa chavez connection with the wbc . I guess i see things very different to you. Bika vs Chavez is a brawl but sorry Chavez does not deserve to fight Bika.

Degales record was better than Groves record before Groves fought Froch so there you go.
