    ^Yes!
Floyd also would've ducked Trinidad from that era, citing "concerns about his health." With good reason too, Trinidad would've decapitated him.

Lets re-phrase the question (that is obviously leading the fans on here down the road). . . would have Floyd and Pernell have fought?

The answer depends on the era. What I mean is that fighters fight for money and it depends under what business Model a fighter fights to help determine who they fight.

In Pernell's day in order to make big money you had to fight to become the champion and big names. the big names where the big names who were former/current or future champs. So in the 90s i have no doubt that the two would have fought, who wins is another question.

if we are talking today, Pernell would want the fight without a doubt, (hell in reality he would probably come out of retirement to get a crack at Floyd). However, depending on the politics and the money I doubt if Floyd would want to fight Pernell as much. Sweet Pea was never a big draw but if the demand was there and the money was right (like 1.5 mill ppv buys) or if he needed to fight Pernell to get to Oscar, I have no doubt Lil Floyd would lace them up.

Money is what motivates all boxers past, present and the future.

    Preach .

It was a blatant duck .

There so many vids on the internet showing Floyd contradicting himself over and over and over again and clearly ducking fighters .

Theres even a vid where he himself admits hes a COWARD . What more do you need to hear ?

But no , these *****s just chooses to ignore it and continue to defend him . I was a big supporter of his back in 07 , and even i could no longer lie to myself . I could not defend him anymore . He makes it very hard to when ever he opens his mouth .

ANYWAY Some of these *****s are quite delusional . Just listen to this crazy ass lie

you can pea wasnt taking it serious but 1 session he was and floyd had to ease up. FACT. so if they fought pro we are
talking a white wash win for floyd. easy easy win. floyd does everything better with more power and way way physically
stronger. pea wouldnt stand a chance in hell. we just have too many idiots on here that dont really follow this sport and
just talk smack.. or these idiots just started watching boxing within the last decade or so and are utterly clueless about
    pretty much everything,

Pea gets undersold a bit when it comes to power. Not a big puncher and had a low KO percentage, but he could do real damage with that left hand when he got leverage on it. One left hand saved him against Hurtado, it changed the whole fight, he rocked steel-chinned Chavez in the 8th round of their fight, and it also scored some one-punch KOs or knockdowns that led to stoppages. He dropped and hurt numerous guys with bodypunches as well.

I don't think he hurts Mayweather though. I don't think he lands that shot clean enough to do so. I'd pick Whitaker to win a close decision, with his jab and workrate being the difference.

Floyd has a better chance at the higher weights.

    Interesting .

If money motivates all boxers past , present and the future .

Then why does Mayweather continues to creates excuses to duck Manny Pacquiao who will give him the biggest payday in boxing history ?

Floyd wouldve demanded something like having pernell go through a skin color change like michael jackson or no fight.

Floyd will never take a fight he knows he can't win no matter how much *****s will try to spin it.

Money is the issue but it is Arum who is to blame. Arum has milked Manny for years double dipping with in house fighters . . . so why would he sacrifice Manny to floyd? why didnt he sacrifice Cotto? Because he was not ready. Arum built up that slime-bag Marbocheato by dragging him around claiming floyd was ducking knowing full well that Floyd wanted nothing to with Arum anymore and was pursuing a fight with Oscar for MONEY.

It has been beaten to death, but even the most ******ed ******* has to admit that it was Manny who walked away because of drug testing in 2009.

In 2012, Pac had a cut that would heal in time foe May 5 until arum thought that Floyd would be behind bars, then Manny's cut miraculously healed to fight JMM on that date. Then we found out floyd was not going to jail until after may 5th . . . and Manny's cut opened up again:D

we are still waiting for that stadium to be built.

Hell Floyd manned up and called Manny personally and what did many do? HE hung up the phone instead of trying to negotiate:deal

I am a fan of both guys. But I have said it before I blame Manny's team 100% because there is zero reason not to take the test in 2009.

So I think you are pointing the finger in the wrong direction when you say who is at fault:bart

If you blame Mannys team "100%" Then you have shown your true colors .

You are not a fan of both fighters like you claim you are . I dont believe that for a second .

Theres only 1 fighter here who continues to create roadblocks after roadblocks and gives us new excuses every week for the past 5 years .

Ray Charles corpse can see this sh#t .

MARVIN HAGLER: With the Pacquiao and Mayweather fight, I think that Mayweather might be a little scared. But then there’s another thing, and he’s almost looking like a Sugar Ray Leonard in the type of sense where he is dictating all of the time. Hello! If you’re going to fight, let’s fight! Let’s stop all this stuff. Let’s just get it on! I mean that is what boxing is about. So he’s trying to gain more money or whatever. I mean you already made enough money. Do you want to fight the guy? Yes or no? And I think that Pacquiao is saying, ‘Come on! Let’s do it today’. But I wouldn’t wait around for Mayweather. I would take another fight and still make as much money as I can and then leave the game while I’m still on top.

Roy Jones JR -“You’re claiming to be the best pound for pound. Now that the man [Manny Pac] agreed to take a blood test, you’re still messing around,” Jones said to Boxingnewsonline. “So do you really think you can win? I’m starting to think he don’t. Because if he did he wouldn’t let this [the Margarito-Pacquiao fight] happen.
But I don’t think that he believes he can win. If he does think he can, he doesn’t think it’s easy.”

TIM BRADLEY – “Floyd doubts himself. Why won’t he fight Manny? Scared, man. He don’t wanna fight that. Floyd don’t wanna fight that. He don’t wanna see Manny in the ring.”

LARRY HOLMES – “Pacquiao did all he can. He did all I would have done. I think Mayweather just got a little too scared if you ask me. If he thinks Pacquiao is taking drugs so what, he should just say: ‘You take it, you kill yourself that isn’t going to help you, because with my talent and ability I believe I can still beat you.’ But he was scared to take that challenge. If they never fight it won’t be Pacquiao’s fault. Every time they came round to fighting, Mayweather put his excuses in.” (BTW Floyd has always made it known that Larry Holmes is his fav heavyweight of all time . PROBABLY NOT ANYMORE THOUGH  )

ATG radio – “Do you really think that we’ll ever see Manny Pacquiao/Floyd Mayweather fight?”

GEORGE FOREMAN – “No. Not at all. No, it’s not gonna happen. Mayweather had a chance to do that fight years ago, and maybe for good reasons, he didn’t want it because there was a chance that , in early when he made up his mind to come back in boxing, Pacquiao would’ve run over him! Then they got a little even in time, and then Mayweather got pretty smart and understood, hey, why? I’m making all this money without fighting him, why fight him? So now there is definitely no reason to do it.”

JAMES TONEY – “My thing is this, Manny Pacquiao is not on steroids. Floyd is scared to fight this boy because the boy is just as fast as him," Toney would explain as he laughed at the accusations of Pacquiao using performance-enhancing drugs. "Everybody making all these excuses. It shows you right there that Mayweather’s not a man. If you be the best fighter in the world, you fight the guys, know what I’m sayin’? No matter, don’t put down no stupid #$%$ stipulations, right. Hey, he should be a little scared. And Pacquiao is proving he’s one of the best fighters in his era, in this decade. I grew up with Floyd Mayweather… we all came from the same block in Michigan. Me, the Mayweather family, Buster Mathis, Tony Tucker… The ‘Hall of Fame’ block, you know what I’m sayin? I love Floyd and I’m glad he’s doing what he’s doing… but if you claim to be the best fighter in the world in the world pound-for-pound… fight! Don’t make no excuses.”
“Pacquiao’s going to knock Floyd out… and Floyd knows it. Floyd’s my man and I love him but I’m going to call it like I see it. The thing is this: Do you know what a rabbit does when it gets backed into a corner? It faints. And that’s what Floyd’s doing.””

SKIP BAYLESS - “Did Floyd DUCK Manny Pacquiao?”

50 CENT ( Floyds former best friend  ) – “Yes. That’s a 100 million dollars, and he just left it. I can't hang out with Floyd no more,I'm tired of running from MANNY PACQUIAO .
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7PF_kMe97w

MICHAEL IRVIN – “I want Mayweather to stop messing around and making us brothers look bad by running. Okay, listen. Stop running, man. You’re making the brothers look bad. Get in the ring, even if you lose, it’s an honorable loss.”

MIKE TYSON – “Hey listen, he doesn’t want to fight the guy, it’s obvious. I don’t know if he’s scared of him or not, but he just obviously doesn’t want to fight the guy.”

STEPHEN A SMITH (longtime die-hard Floyd-supporter ), ESPN. – “I’m saying because of the Manny Pacquiao I saw yesterday, I have to believe that Floyd is DUCKING.”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwlHsFvDrcc

IT MUST BURN FLOYD DEEP DOWN THAT EVEN HIS OWN PEOPLE SAYS HE SCARED OF PACQUIAO AND BLAMES HIM FOR DUCKING THE FIGHT ! :deal

I DARE ANY OF YOU PUNK ASS *****S TO DEFEND HIM AFTER THIS .
