    Blinded by love.
When you wake up in the morning, roll over and tell Ward to get his contract sorted so he can fight or STFU.

That shot where he broke his hand reminded me of that old 90's (?) movie Gladiator (not with Russell Crowe :p) that had Cuba Gooding Jr and some white dude that boxed at a gym where the cop from Rambo 1 pimped 'em out and ****.

Anyways, there was lot's of attention in the movie given to "the hardest part of the head" and how the old schoolers would intentionally try to dip their head real quick to try and break the opponents hand and in the final fight where White dude had to fight Cop from Rambo, that's the trick he pulled :D

    :conf

:conf I've seen guys manage it with either, the jab hand or the power hand.

I mean, you have to have ice veins and balls of steel to work through something like that, so no matter which hand it was, Quintero probably would've folded. He just doesn't have that dog in him. Few do, though.

Ahh..BS - went to the fridge for a beer....

Shame, was enjoying that fight as well. Quintero well up over 4, but Nugaevs pressure and body attacks seemed to be starting to tell a bit. Had the potential for some drama into the later rounds...and then.....well

I feel like someone's stolen my climax. Now I understand why Missus K gets so annoyed...

I can't give a guy like Quintero quitting with a broken hand. Guys in his position collect their main paychecks elsewhere. He needs that hand in life, because boxing can't pay all the bills.

Guys who have gigantic paychecks on the line, where toughing it out can mean hundreds of thousands... that's different... but even if Quintero pulls off the minor.. and I mean minor upset.. it's not really leading to all that much bigger things.

Man, WTF. Alejandro Luna fought on the undercard. Rematch with a guy who came within a minute of lasting the distance with him.

Yet, as the opener, they chose Hernandez-Harrison vs. Balasi? :-(

Granted, double knockdown rounds are a rare treat, but there is no way DHH in his current stage of development is more deserving of airtime than Luna. No way.

    :nod

I don't even think it would've been an upset. Knowing that Quintero had the skills to pull off what he showed us there in twelve minutes' work, and knowing that Rustam is shockingly inept when you don't oblige him by slugging (very limited ability to cut the ring off etc) I figured if he could avoid getting trapped and ground down (like Atlas said, Nugaev lacks one-punch KO power and is more of a cumulative hitter) it would be clear skies. :-( Didn't factor in brittle paws.

...but yeah, even if he were able to hang in there for the next six, and even if he got the nod (which it sounds like would have been iffy even if he deserved it), he still would've severely damaged himself for honestly very little gain.
