    Morning all. IB.

Indeed. Sadly, like the Kamikaze of the Pacific war Arakawa is also relatively inneffectual and likely to have a short lifespan.

    Undeniably courageous however.:bbb

I scored the fight a shutout for Linares, same as two of the judges, 10-0 rounds, 100-90 points. It was a competitive fight, Arakawa consistently pressed the action moving forward, and frequently was the busier fighter. But Linares clearly fought the fight he wanted, he was moving backwards but he kept out of the pocket and off the ropes, his foot movement was sublime, and consistently kept him out of trouble. His movement forced Arakawa into throwing wide punches from distance with no power on them. Linares meanwhile was consistently landing jabs, straight rights, and uppercuts, all with decent power. Good win for Linares, granted against a defensively limited opponent. Boxrec surprisingly has Linares ranked only at #40 at lightweight, if not for his chin and paper skin, he has the talent to be the best lightweight in the world. Excellent performance tonight.

I am racking my brain to come up with a lightweight who could definitely KO Arakawa.

    :?

    Maybe none.

Best chances would be Thompson, Luna, maybe Nakamura. Those guys with the dynamite they pack would all have a field day with someone as willing to get hit as Nihito...but would I put money on any of them getting rid of him? :think Nah.

None of the elites/champions of the division have the punch to get it done.
