I scored the fight a shutout for Santa Cruz, 12-0 rounds, 120-108 points. The fight really scored itself, as Santa Cruz dominated every round in every way possible. Mijares didn't really seem to have a plan, he ran around the ring early on, he tried fighting in close, he tried fighting at arm's length. Whatever he did, Santa Cruz dominated with his usual overwhelmingly superior workrate. His jabs, straight rights, left hooks, combinations, head and body work, it was all humming. I think Mijares was happy just to have gone the distance, and I think that was probably his goal from the 2nd round onwards. Some might be concerned that Santa Cruz has now gone the distance in his last two fights, but he never really had 1-punch power, he has always gotten over with his superior output. I was happy to hear Santa Cruz call out Frampton, that would be a CRACKING fight, especially if it happened in the UK. But Santa Cruz will still have unfinished business at 122 until he fights Rigondeaux, and as I posted earlier, hopefully when Rigondeaux's Top Rank contract ends this July, they can then make that fight happen.

Miguel Canto was a Mexican, and was one of the slickest mofos who ever lived. And JC Superstar could box off the back foot pretty well when he wanted to. Just throwing that out there....:conf
