only in this era of a 1000 belts do we get champions calling out or begging to fight non title holders. cant make this stuff up
would be a good fight. if canelo continues to impress and improve his stamina and conditioning, lara will have no chance.

I hope the fight gets made. Lara has good lateral movement but he all too often just stands in front of his opponent doing nothing it's why Angulo gave him so much trouble. And he seems open to the left hook. I see Canelo stopping him should the fight get made.
If Alvarez failed to make 154 for this fight then he simply can't make it anymore. Alvarez is most likely going up to 160 and facing the winner of Cotto/Martinez on a worthy PPV card.
Don't be deceived by the Angulo fight. Alvarez is a world class fighter for sure and will give Lara a tough fight even if he loses but the Angulo fight isn't worth judging. Angulo was intimidated and discouraged from the opening bell and was simply there to get pummeled.
Canelo just basically said "Forget it, I don't want to lose to Lara and lower my marketability." That's not a champion mentality. I hope for the sake of the sport that Martinez will defeat Cotto and keep his word to Golovkin so Canelo can't move up and grab the championship without fighting the toughest opponent.
