It's the other way around. Arum actually screwed Gamboa when he let the cake bake for too long.

He's such a fukcing snake. A childish P.O.S. and boxing will be better when he's gone. How are you going to be a promoter and help the sport when you constantly hold on to grudges like a 14 year old boy? And because of him being this way, I figured Garcia-Gamboa wouldn't happen. Especially after all the rumors were swirling saying this guy wants too much, that guy wants too much, blah blah blah. No shock it ain't gonna happen.

Uchiyama is no joke, Mikey might have picked the harder fight :deal

Beating Gamboa would have been a strong ATG credential

Hate to say this, but it will not be end of the world once this senile pig is gone...

Arum is playing child, in reality he is sheltering Mikey...possibly he doesn't feel Gamboa is ripened enough? Or maybe Arum is not as sharp as he used to be?

All I know is that dude is bad for the sport. I can understand if they had other big fights to pursue but this makes sense for both. Especially if Bob wants to turn Mikey into a star. Beating Gamboa would be a nice boost.

I think all of Arum's top fighters are just waiting for their contracts to expire to be rid of him. He knows this and forces them into extensions to make good fights. Goosen did the same to Ward.
As they say, Fool me once, shame on me, twice....
