Broner was playing possum with Maidana

Broner was break dancing in the ring against Maidana.

 

Broner has a Glass Jaw. Glass Jaws exist in boxing.

 

I lost all respect I had for Broner in that fight. That performance was an embarrassment. What he did with Maidana in the corner was a black eye to boxing. Broner got what he had coming to him, which was an ass whooping from Maidana.

He wasn't playing possum, that would infer he was "toying" around with Maidana. Rather he looked like the carcass of a possum that got run over.

I like Broner's skillset, don't care for his personality too much, but I enjoyed the fact Maidana beat him the way he did. It was delusional for him to jump up to 147 directly from LW and believe he'd be able to be dominant at this much larger weightclass. It's a good cautionary tale for the younger fighters: if you're going to move up in weight, do it gradually and don't jump up multiple weightclasses. If other boxers aren't doing it, there's probably a reason why.
