First it was Gamboa. Bob Arum has been trying to use every possible means to block any progress of the Cuban fighter, ... , it became evident first around a possible fight against then star Juanma Lopez. It continued with the most recent Events around a possible fight against Mikey Garcia, again, when Garcia was almost put against the wall by the fans claiming for that fight to happen, intervened the Top Rank boss, to save his fighter out of the fight ...

Second there is the well known case of Rigondeaux, again Bob Arum has tried by all means to shut the Cuban out, and his reactions have been as notorious as ridiculous e.g.:

"HBO vomits whenever I mentioned Rigo's name"

... and that from the promoter of the fighter, after the Cuban defeated a top 5 P4P fighter ...

Is there a pact between Arum and Cuban officials to block the Cuban fighters in the professional ranks?

Reportedly Arum had a recent visit to Cuba:

Is there a hidden agenta of this promoter regarding top Cuban Boxers?

i dont think there is to much behind it mate

gamboa v juanma was stopped by bob because he wanted to continue to hype an allready hyped up megafight and gamboa lost his chance obviously because juanma lost to salido.

now after his bad blood split with arum of course arum is not going to let him make money from and potentially beat one of his future cash cows in garcia

rigo just has a non casual friendly style and thus wont ever draw big numbers though i am a huge fan of the guy and am absolutely disgusted as to how his own promoter has treated him i dont think there is some anti cuban conspiracy going on

rigos contract runs out in june i believe and then he will likely sign with GBP and we will see him treated much better and matched with some top opponents like mares :) or LSC

I doubt very much that Bob Arum has a close relationship with the Cuban government.

Bop only cares about the money...
IF Florida was a big fight state then we would be buying Rigo on PPV, but it ain't so we don't.

IF you have a following then you generate what Bop lives for.

It is pretty strange to have the fighter's promoter say something like, "Who The Fuk is Rigo?" when asked about Garcia, and stupid stuff like that.

Bob is a piece of work, no doubt.

You mean Gamboa? He didn't refer to rigo in that statement.

And if you do mean Gamboa then you need to remember. He no longer promoted him. 50 cent does.

As for his dislike. I would disagree he did everything he could to hype Gamboa. Consistently on hbo/showtime. Was going to dis big press conference for rios vs Gamboa. And Gamboa walked.

As for rigo. He consistently put him on hbo. Even got him on the channel after he continued to show 0 entertainment value. At a certain point it is up to the fighter to sell himself. If nobody wants to watch you. That's not the promoters fault. That's yours.

... ok but another thing is, when you out the comodity of your white ass, try to dismerit your own fighter, the one who is not only risking his own health but also fighting for the Top Rank's stable.
... he is consistently trying to devalue Cuban fighters and influence the public perception about them ...

It does appear that way. Arum's job is to promote the fighter, not discredit him. It's unfortunate because Rigondeux is so talented. But unfortunately his style is not one that excites casual fans.

    Arum's a greedy
Alright won't say it but we know they're parasites who profit from others hard work.

They hate Cuba because it's not ruled by them.

Is Dick Schaefer in on this conspiracy? Here he is sh1tting on Lara after his most exciting fight vs Angulo, and on Rigo and Gamboa in passing. And clearly undermining his fighter by serving him unwatchable fights:

I know you're a reflexive GBP nuthugger, but read Schaefer's quote above. The difference between the 2 is that in 12 fights Rigo has gotten opportunities and purses Lara can only dream of.
