They don't put out, Non-Cuban clientele want a pleasurable banging...

Cubana uaually the perfect package but it comes with the Castro baggage

They dance alot and don't bang enough

    Arum let them go...

This is a fine take on the situation if it's applied consistently. For instance I don't want to hear about the promotional brilliance of Top Rank if it's incumbent on the fighters alone to make money and/or if the company is only interested in exerting the slightest bit of effort on guys with easily exploitable ethnic backgrounds.

Why would Arum want his own fighters to fail? It's not Arum's fault that Rigo doesn't sell. He's given him showcase fights, got him a world title within ten fights, a unification with a P4P star soon after...casual fans don't like Rigo's style, and he doesn't speak English so his personality won't sell.

It was not Arum who gave a world title fight to Rigo, ... , I blind promoter with some brain, could have achieved the same thing earlier with somebody with Rigo's talent level ... Rigo shines with his own merit, being twice the olimpic champion he is and performing the way he has done to date ... you wrote thereafter easily of the unification fight with the P4P star ... but what is the accomplishment is that you have also to win, and Lomachenko example shows that one thing is to be given the opportunity and another is to perform ...

That is the question we all are putting here, why he try to diminish blatantly the value of his own fighters after such huge performances .... here is another from Arum's comments:

"In order for Rigondeaux to become a superstar Fidel Castro has to come down and promote him"

At the end of the day, no matter how talented you are, if you can't put asses in seats, all of that counts for nothing...

I would if I were them. Put him on undercards if you have to. Golden Boy has Mares, Jhonny Gonzalez, Gary Russell (I know, I know), Santa Cruz, Ponce De Leon all around his weight class.

Nobody's denying Rigo's talent. Even Arum has never criticised his abilities. But he can't sell. People walk out the arena when he fights, and his bouts get record low numbers on HBO. Arum doesn't benefit from the lack of interest in Rigo from casual fans. He'd love it if Rigo had become a star.

So you really think promoters (Arum and GBP) love mexican fighters because they are mexican and not because they sell out arenas, have unconditional love from Mexican fans and mexico and mexican americans are the biggest market in continental america right now?

I went to see a lara card in so cal, spinks vs k9 was the main event. No note worthy mexican fighter fighting that night, and 90% of the place was packed with mexicans.

My point is that even in a non-mexican fight card, mexicans are still the majority in boxing events.

And ricans in the eastcoast. Bob knows that and follows the money

Great example of the stupidity on this forum. Arum would promote a freaking Nazi if he made a lot of money. Has nothing to do with biases, conspiracies, ufos, or anything else.

Arum can't even get Donaire back on HBO. What makes you think Arum can get freaken Rigo back on HBO? This conspiracy stuff is nonsense.
