He's definitely extremely quick handed, it's almost computer game speed, but that alone ain't enough and we've seen countless examples of very quick handed "talented" fighters who don't turn out great.

If you've seen the kid, then you know he has more than just fast hands.
He has good balance, can place his punches with accuracy, and he has damned good timing.
His footwork is good, and he doesn't chase his opponents around the ring. When he gets someone hurt, he isn't reckless, takes his time and finishes them with quick and accurate shots.
He works behind the jab, at all times.

The one thing that worries me about Russell is common with a lot of fast handed fighters. Fragile hands.
We haven't seen him get hit too often, so the question of how he takes a punch is still unobserved.

You realise that anyone can look against a punching bag right? If you understood boxing you'd also see that he has poor footwork and timing, and gets tagged by guys who shouldn't be able to get anywhere near him. He's not as fast as you make him out to be either, he has very short arms so he can fire off combinations quickly when he's in range. GRJ doesn't finish fighters, the fact that he has a sub-60% KO percentage against the competition he's fought indicates that he is feather fisted.
Just see what happens as soon as he steps up. It doesn't even need to be against Lomachenko, it can be a lesser fighter and you'll still see GRJ get exposed for what I'm telling you he is. He's been protected for a very good reason, it's clear from interviews that him and his father lack belief in his boxing ability. They talk about it rather than be about it. There are levels in boxing and there's a reason why Marroquin outboxed him as an amateur and he hasn't fought a better opponent since despite being a pro for years.

Okay, so Salido won the fight. That's exactly my point, the judges obviously weren't paid off as GRS is alluding to.
What exactly is pro about what GRJ has been doing? He still hasn't fought someone as good as Ramirez or looked as good as Lomachenko did against Ramirez. GRJ is more of an amateur than Lomachenko. Lomachenko just lost a split decision against Salido ffs, GRJ hasn't been anywhere near that level. You see 40-12 and because you don't understand boxing you call Salido a journeyman. Salido would demolish GRJ, I have no doubt about that. Especially the 147lb low blow throwing version that Lomachenko fought.

    Hey kid,
I'm not saying this because I dislike Loma, or Russell is my cousin or anything like that.
My opinion is formed from what I see.
Had I seen that the typical Russell opponent were 3-8 types with more losses than wins or a bunch of fighters making their pro debut with 1-0 records I would agree that Russell had more padding than substance in his fights. That isn't the case. The opponents Russell has faced were typical of gradual step up fights that a fighter should face as he is honing his craft. These opponents aren't as bad as many have portrayed. I've definitely seen worst opposition from other fighters.
Look at the guys Ramirez was facing when he began.
I, like others am eagerly awaiting for russell to take the next step up in competition.

On the other hand, had I seem Loma in both of his fights come out using his jab, not allowing his opponent to fall in and wrestle with him, hitting him in the nuts at will, then I would be of a completely different opinion.
If Loma allowed his opponent to come in and hug, and then do what Ward does and beat them up on the inside, I'd then understand why he allows it.
What I saw was that Loma doesn't use a jab, allows his opponents in and is not effective in in-side fighting. Experience may change this. Maybe it won't. Time will tell.

My opinion is strictly objective from what I have observed from each fighter.

I'm not a kid, and I'm telling you that you don't know what you're looking at. You obviously don't understand boxing, you're either new to it or not very perceptive/intelligent.
You think that Salido isn't far off the level of GRJ's opponents, you're not being objective in the slightest. GRJ himself and his family won't even deny that the opposition has been woeful, when asked about the criticism they just say "It's a business, we're not here forever, our goal was to get to 24-0 before the title etc.", they can't even claim that they've fought anyone. There isn't one opponent he's fought that is close to being on the world class level. That is objectively true, and you can't seem to understand that. Even if GRJ had knocked out everybody he has fought in the first 10 seconds of the first round in every fight we still wouldn't be able to objectively compare him to the Lomachenko in the Salido fight, because the levels are worlds apart.

To do what Lomo did in his 1st pro fight proves he's a problem for anyone

Have you ever seen a fighter fight for a world title when his previous fight was against a blown up flyweight who had lost 3 of his previous 5 fights by KO?
And the fight before that against an opponent who had just lost 6 in a row?
Where are these almost-Salido level guys? :rofl

When was this point that GRJ stepped up his competition from complete bum?

Remember Jonathon Oquendo, the guy who was supposed to fight Lomachenko in his debut before he pulled out? He also knocked Tamayo out in 4 rounds, and he knocked Landeros out in the first round (14-0 GRJ beat Landeros in a 6 round decision in Landeros previous fight).
It's about levels, and I'd honestly struggle to pick GRJ against Ramirez.

You mean stopping Ramirez with that body punch?
I thought that was a good performance. Could have been better, but he won.
Ramirez is the same caliber of fighter filling Russell's resume.

Most of Salido's punches landed on Lomachenko's legs, balls, hips, etc., Lomachenko had Salido out in the 12th round, but Cole, once again, helped Salido. So, those who think that Salido won the fight also think that the decision Bowe/Golota should be reversed.................low blows are legal..........also hitting on the break.........

Ramirez is the same calibre as Russell don't you mean. When Oquendo pulled out of the Lomachenko fight, Ramirez was considered a better opponent (a naturally bigger guy who had never been stopped). Jonathon Oquendo has performed just as well or better against common opponents with Gary Russell.
That's why I lean towards Ramirez in a Ramirez vs GRJ match up. Lomachenko knocks GRJ out within 4 as well. Even in the Gusev fight (GRJ's best opponent who can't punch and was picked for that reason) we saw that GRJ didn't like to be hit and had no defence against body punches.
Lomachenko would/will destroy GRJ, I guarantee that.

Actually, I see Russell stopping Ramirez by round 5, and without taking as many punches as Loma did.
Loma allows his opponent to come in, put their head to his chest and flail away. Russell don't play that.
Ramirez would have been eating Russell jabs and combinations until he fell.
    Russell TKO 5
