Derry Matthews is better than Anthony Crolla who could end up facing Ricky Burns.
What you need to remember Ted is Matthews beat Crolla twice and is above him in the pecking order. Don't get me wrong a Harrison-Matthews fight would be good, but would people not have a problem then with Scott fighting better opposition than guys Ricky's fighting?

I agree with you in that Liam Walsh is one of the best in Britain, and he would certainly beat Murray/Crolla IMO.

That's not the word on the street Billy.

People I know who went to the Burns-Crawford fight (some of them first timers) are talking about going back in the summer to see a showdown with Burns-Harrison.
People are talking it's been on the papers, radio and social networks are going crazy.

:rofl Lets not overrate Harrison. He never actually fought an elite fighter. MAB and Morales would have beat him and probably quite handily.
Benny Lynch is Scotlands flawed genius if ever there was one. A top 5 ATG fly, one of Britians greatest ever, highly talented, punched like a mule, chin of Iron, one of the best in the sport p4p at his peak, died in the gutter an alcoholic mess in his early 30's.
Harrison isn't on the level of Ken Buchanan who has a record full of high quality and done it away from home. Ken has 2 ATG's on his scalp, Harrisons best win is Chacon who was one of the more shitty paper champs of the sport back then.

I know what you're saying Harrison never fought elite level, but Harrison fought Manuel Medina who was a 5 time world champion with 20 odd world title fights, he was not on the same level as Barrera or Morales, but he was a great fighter and i would say that was Harrisons best win.
Medina went on to have one or two more title shots and an eliminator after Harrison, but his best days were well behind him by that point.

I also think you're a wee bit harsh on Chacon being one of the more shitty paper champions. Yes he did win a vacant title, but it was against Victor Polo who was a class fighter who challenged for the world title 4 or 5 times fighting the likes of Juan Manuel Marquez etc.. Polo himself would go on to give Scott all sorts of trouble a couple of years later.

I thought Polo beat Harrison, Polo was past his best as well. Chacon did well beating Polo but he was a midget compared to Scott. He was clearly shocked at the size of Scott on the night.
Medina was past it when he fought Harrison. Not shot but defo past his best. McCullough was past his best as well, so was Brodie. Most of the more talented/higher profile names Harrison beat were past their best.

Tracy Harris Patterson was shot to ****.

    Tom Johnson was shot.

    Steve Robinson was past it.

    Chacon was no spring chicken.

McCullough was past it and clearly too small.

Medina was past his best having already had over 60 fights

Polo was past his best no question.

    Brodie was clearly past it.

Hussein was past it as well as being garbage.

The rest are not worth mentioning really.

Ryan a have paid my way over and over to watch Ricky mate so just cos a didn't attend that fight don't mean a can't have my say at u moaning since before you even went about the undercard. You say your near 'paradise' do u pay 29 quid sometimes to watch the 90 mins of drivel served upty you in a half empty stadium? Is that value for money?

You know a like a good undercard as i have already explained to you, so i don't why you're bringing that up again.

Another thing i don't BUY the odd ticket to see Celtic , I'm a season ticket holder 19 year and not a part timer like you that turns up to events now again when it suits you.

Anyway this is a Scott Harrison-Ricky Burns thread, so stop derailing the thread D1ckside.

I advice u to go on the WBO website check the rankings for when Scott won that belt, and the amount of Legends he beat to it, same legends that could have fought him as champion but decided to go down another route soon after he beat Chachon. If they could have beaten him handily they would have fought him as he had belt they had been trying to get. Everytime he was up against it he raised his level, and he would have beat any FW/SF more often than they would have beat him

So you give Harrison props for beating legends to a belt rather as actually beating legends  The reason Harrison didn't fight the top dogs is because he was with Frank. Frank is notorious for milking titles before he takes risks. Yeah I'm sure MAB and Morales were terrified to fight Harrison and chose to fight each other and JMM and Pacman instead. Much easier fighting future ATG multi weight champions than it is fighting Scott Harrison :patsch
Scott wasn't good enough to beat MAB or Morales or any elite fighter. I think he would have done Chi and Guzman though. Chi was getting old and Guzman was overrated.
