Bellew is domestic level imo, he is fighting a 37 years old man who never beat anyone of note and whose last two fights were over terribly poor tomato cans. If he can't beat him convincingly he should pack up.
Heard it all before 'going to put on a show', 'go toe to toe', same spiel every fight, mouth on overdrive, never backs it up. The two sides of Bellew, the bark and the wimper, one appears at the press conferences, the other in the ring, unfortunately the wimper appears in the latter.
Yep, same old story. "People come to see knockouts and thats what I give them. I come to fight every time and people are going to get a show" etc etc. Is that what you did in the McKenzie rematch Tony? How about bringing your childhood BMX into the ring and cycling around the ring on all night vs Stevenson until you got starched mate?
The guy talks **** before fights and then fights like a mouse. Mayweather is all about being a defensive boxer, outboxing, outsmarting, outslicking his opponent etc. You don't hear people complaining when he fights a defensive fight. Thats because he doesn't run around shouting about how he's willing to get killed in the ring and he's going to knock yer unconscious etc etc. Bellews act has grown old very fast and he is pretty much a hated character by boxing fans due to his constant bull****.
Lirva has a point I honestly thought he would retire after he embarrassed himself like that vs Stevenson. Or perhaps stop talking big like he does...guess not too much gets through that thick skull of his.
It'll happen against a better Cruiserweight but Brudov is pretty bad and was specially chosen to make Bellew look good. If Bellew struggles to put Brudov away inside the first 6 rds, he may as well retire. The Cruiserweight Top 10 is pretty tasty at the moment and has some very good fighters in it who would all beat Bellew fairly easily. Marco Huck, Yoan Pablo Hernandez, Denis Lebedev, Krzysztof Wlodarczyk, Guillermo Jones, Ola Afalabi, Thabiso Mchunu, Rakhim Chakhkiev, Ilunga Makabu and Yunier Dorticos. There's another 10 outside the Top 10 who i'd make favourite to beat Bellew as well. These are guys like Eddie Chambers, William Bezerra, Dmitry Kudryashov, Grigory Drozd and Brad Pitt. It's going to be a tough division for Bellew to make any impact at all.
