Benn was very hard to hit the way he ducked, slipped, bobbed and weaved in '93-'96, though he did struggle with the southpaw stance of Nardiello. Lacy was ridiculously poor/musclebound/scared/****.
Benn could bob and weave very well. His performance against Piper was very good. As for Lacy, he was very muscled but he wasnt slow. If you look at say Froch today, Lacy was argueably faster, faster feet, higher workrate and I would guess hits as hard if not possibly harder. I dont think Lacy was scared and I dont think as bad as now said. I think he just met a fighter who had all the answers to his game. Lacy was a winner of 5 world title fights had beaten top 10 rated Tsypko who beat Magee who became a SMW champ, beat top 10 rated Vanderpool, beat top 10 rated Pemberton and beat top 10 rated Reid
All very, very mediocre fighters. A shot Sheika beat him up and Reid was beyond shot. Lacy was indeed slow and went through five moves to throw one punch, arching with his shots on punch-bag opponents.
nevermind that Watson would kill Joe, the only Watson that JC would dare face was the fortysomething halfblind one in a wheelchair, and Joe would typically take great pleasure in showboating against (as is his way against 40somethings). after which he would proclaim it was his greatest victory and that Watson was 'still dangerous', and then proceed to flee from prime fighters into retirement, laughing them off as below his watsoninawheelchair level.
Well, the unbeaten Kessler that way past his prime Joe clearly beat would have mopped the floor with every oponnent Watson defeated. You mad ?
He struggled to contain mediocre Kessler in the first 4-5 rounds, who was one-dimensional, basic, not particularly fast and not very aggressive or powerful. The Benn that Watson fought............
..was an one dimensional , kill-or-be-killed wrecking ball with absolutely no regard for defense. After his first two defeats, he became a much, much better fighter. Kessler would have toyed with that version of Benn.
I know you have an overwhelming and quite irrationally obsessive hatred of Calzaghe but you do cross the line sometimes. It's stuff that this that makes you come across as a troll now and then, and I think you're better than that.
