Haye was in fact a decent fighter at CW. He stepped up as HW and got found out.

I would always have respect for him for being a CW champ, but the toe nonsense really showed him up

I dropped a dumbell on my little toe and I struggled to walk for days. My toe was nowhere near swollen as haye's so im sure he was in pain. I think it was the way he showed everybody at the press conference that made him look stupid!

The toemaker really is a huge embarrassment to British boxing. He's the laughing stock of boxing. Everybody in my gym considers him a complete joke. I was in New York and trained in a very well known gym and when somehow Haye came up and everyone, including the trainers, thought he was a complete joke. He's caused this himself. Worldwide he is seen as the clown of British boxing after his toe act.

    embarrassment? Behave

He was a very good cruiserweight champion beating some good fighters at the weight.

Giacobbe Fragomeni - Went on to win a WBC Cruiserweight Championship and Challenged for it twice more.

Jean Marc Mormeck - Former Unified Cruiserweight Champion and Heavyweight world championship contender.

Enzo Maccarenelli - Beat him to retain two championships and gain Enzo's WBO. This is when people thought Enzo was unbeatable.

At heavyweight he went on to win the WBA by beating Nicolay Valuev. Defended against John Ruiz, Fraudley Harrison and then lost to arguably a great heavyweight champion in Wladimir Klitchko.

Now now how is that a joke?

I like Haye, the toe thing was just a case of being a sore loser but he's not a bad boxer and he done pretty good to be fair. I hope his shoulder heals and he gives it another go.

As for arrogance it's a pretty common characteristic amongst famous athletes in my opinion.

Granted he shouldn't have mentioned the toe incident and just accepted he lost to the better man, but the cut above the eye was a serious cut, the funny part was when Fury got a nick above his eye he drew comparisons between them stating he was going to carry on fighting with his 'cut' which was so tiny it could barely be seen on camera.

1- you never went to any gym in New York

2- if in fact you did go to the gym I'd put my life on the fact tht everyone in the gym combined hasn't achieved 1/100000th of what David has achieved

People hate on him because he has over achieved as a superb cruiser weight coming up to heavyweight and winning a world title. He came up short against wladimir but no shame in that. Fact is he's young, good looking and rich and was a very exciting and won world titles in 2 weight divisions.

Regardless of the fights he has pulled out of I have always enjoyed Hayes fights and appreciate him for what he was, an exciting power puncher with great reflexes and terrific finishing
