Some guys can train all day and night but still tire out but I see fat guys like James Toney casually going 12 rounds. Most people off the street couldn't go 2 rounds but Butterbean goes 4 easy. There has to be more to it then. I would rank the importance as follows.

    1) Good shape/training well
    2) Being relaxed and not tense. Tight muscles fatigue faster. (Toney is the master here)
    3) Breathing technique
    4) Nutrition
    5) Good technique
    6) Physical strength. (You have to work harder if you're not that strong)

I mean, there has to be some reasons to explain why people can come into the gym with a 6 pack and be gassed after one round but James Toney could go 20 rounds if he wanted too.

I'm a big guy and my buddy who is in the military either quits from being tired or is extremely gassed by the end where as I feel like I can keep going. It may be something about how you train your body.

    Yeah...

Body fat levels are a poor indicator of conditioning...

  5. True, and as just an example. There was a grossly overweight guy who used to waddle around our local park years ago. He was tragic to watch but you had to hand it to him for determination.

About 20 years later he is still running around the same park. He has lost heaps of weight, but his body fat level, at least by appearance, is still fairly high. Thing is he runs around there for 2 to 3 hours at a respectable pace these days and never even gets out of breath.
