I'm not here to debate the outcome of the fight... we all know already and there are several threads on it.

There are some things that Maidana has that will be a minor interest to watch though:

    1. He is definitely a volume puncher. It will be interesting to see if he can find a way to throw more than 550, as many other guys have their output drop.

    2. Maidana, like Cotto, can be hurt. Maybe this opens Floyd up more and Maidana can get some small windows.

    3. Endurance. Basically no one Floyd has fought in the last 5 years has had this. If Floyd has aged and he doesn't hurt Maidana, the last few rounds might be competitive.

    4. Maidana has started to use a jab. No punch has scored more clearly and frequently on Floyd than a jab. Now...as soon as Maidana started to get to Broner, the jab disappeared, but he did go back to it a bit.

    5. Low to high punch. It remains to be seen if can even set this up against Floyd, but he throws this shot beautifully. He can also throw it from distance too. The way he dropped Broner with it was beautiful. (Yes Broner is not Floyd, I know. If Floyd were to read that shot wrong even once it would be pretty big)

I'm definitely not buying the PPV, but wanted to point out what I thought were some positives.

    1. floyd has lowers most opponents output by half when he fights them. but if maidana is making it a dog fight on the inside he will prob let his hands go more then most do

    2. i like the idea that maidana is an opponent floyd can atleast knock down, so we may see floyd engage more especially late. and if he knocks him down early well maidana has a tendency to just turn it up a notch if that happends, true warrior spirit

3.i think the younger fighters like guerrero had plenty of stamina they just broke down mentally when you just cant seem to do anything against floyd. but we'l see

4.you are correct the jab is the key to beating floyd, but you must use it effectively, i felt cotto did incredibly well with it but he has always had a strong jab and used it effectively to get inside. im a bit worried about maidanas jab to be honest i think floyd will take it away from him fairly fast

5.hard to say. everyone works on the bag but you get a live body infront of you everything changes, and floyd makes broner look like a bag

im not exactly pumped for this fight and i hope it does not sell well prompting floyd to put his hatred for pac and arums disrespect towards him aside and make the fight we all want to see. after all there aient much other fights out there ?

    Stop hyping that **** up...

    1. thats what people said about Guerrero, Ortiz, Cotto... It gets old really.
    2. Floyd doesn't want to hurt anybody and if he has somebody hurt he won't go in for the kill anyway.
    3. Maidana was gassing vs Broner, if it was 15 rounds he wouldve lost.
    4. Maidanas jab is a joke...lets see how many he lands on Floyd.
    5. yeah, that is something Floyd has never seen before, faking low hitting high...especially from a distance when Floyd can see that **** coming from miles away...

It is a **** fight and a disgrace and we shouldn't try to sugarcoat it.

Maidana is nothing but an average gatekeeper with a punch who couldn't win a single round against Devon Alexander. This match is a joke

it' s funny there is all this hate for Floyd's fights, but whnever Pac fights a bum, it's ok. Man, Floyd wins he loses but he still wins in the end.

    No he hasn't.
He's still basically the same fighter that couldn't win a round against Devon, you'll see.
