    robbed.

Whether Danny underestimated Herrrera, wasn't motivated, or whatever the excuses...the greats find a way to win even when they are made to look bad.

My comment/question is how many fighters/champions have received gift decisions?

Think about all of the past and present champions that have a received gift decision. You will find out that there are more than you think. I can't think of a top champion who has not received a gift decision, lmao.

Not a robbery....but a gift. It was competitive and Danny did some work....but he lost the fight, clearly. He knows it and so does pops....you can tell by the way they carried themselves and how Danny sounded in the post fight interview. It was a lesson learned, I'm sure....but this happens in boxing. Young champions get a gift to keep the train on the tracks. Bad style match up for Danny. There will be no rematch that's for sure.

Some people think Barrera beat Marquez. My point is this. Many top fighters have had to go through this process of being given a gift decision even if it is or isn't a gift decision.

Danny also needed a gift against Theophane. Its a recurring theme, he never wins a fight in dominant fashion. Even past it Judah who Malignaggi just schooled was lighting Danny up

Danny is far from 'a great' lmao

He's young and an over achiever. He's not the fastest...he's not the most polished....he doesn't have any outstanding qualities that make him standout. What he has is the heart and testicular fortitude to grind when others sometimes let off the gas. He is a very good fighter overall.....But he's still improving and he has the heart of a champion that is for sure. I just don't think he'll be a dominant champion like Bhop or even Tito. Two greats that he can relate to.

Good post. Herrera is a pretty good fighter. Some think that he isn't, but I know that it's to belittle Danny and blow up Matthysse......and leave Herrera on an island where only the C- survive.

Both Klitschkos never received a gift decision. Same with GGG.

Problem isn't in Dany, its in Herrera. He is crafty, awkward and determined, and he can take a hell of a punch. He beat Danny and now people are wondering how, when it really is simple: he is a very, very good boxer.

What's ur point anyway? Damage Control...

The fact is Danny was overrated by his fans and is no where near as good or talented as they thought he was...

Just goes to show most of his fans just didn't like how Matthysse was being compared to Pacquiao or being touted as an opponent for Floyd... They're fans of his based on emotion, not boxing knowledge

So what's the point of this thread?

Herrera is a scrapper man.....he's got a lot of tricks and he's incorporated them well into his craft. He's not a big puncher by any means but he got a style that is hard to find a rhythm against for most. Danny unfortunately didn't have any answers in ad******g but....Funny thing is I think Lucas would beat Herrera. He just has a better style to off-set Herrera's offense than Danny.

Klits still have losses so it doesn't matter...and give me a break Ggg has fought no one, and he isn't a great...all the atgs have either got gifts, had close fights that could have went either way or have str8 up loss so Danny shouldn't feel bad at all just keep pushing and get better...
