He's fighting on the undercard of the Goldenboy St Patricks day card in Boston, Massachusetts tonight.

It's being shown live on Boxnation starting at 12.30am.

Will be interesting to see how Nevin progresses, personally i think his style is far more suited to the Pro's then Campbell but we will see.

Hopefully Goldenboy get him out in Ireland as he could build up a huge following there.

Any thoughts on Nevin and how far he could go in the Pro's?

As an amateur John Joe is basically the best thing to come out of Ireland since McCullough. Top class amateurs seem to be doing very well in the pro game these days so it will be interesting to see how Nevin progresses. He has conducted himself immaculately thus far.

    Agree.

He was a model amateur and i'm sure he'll become a big star as a Pro too.

A top amateur and hopefully he can do the same in the pro ranks, smart move to go to the US.

Well it was a 6 rounder. His opponent was 3 and 0 with 1 draw and came to win. Nevin had him wobbled on several occasions but was trying too hard for the knock out. OVerall he looked very classy and caught the attention of Pauli Malinaggi as a decent debut. My only criticism is he was throwing bombs too much and maybe short spurts of 4 punch combos would have delivered the ko. An 8 or 9 out of 10 performance.

to be fair, yeah his opponent was unbeaten, but he hasnt boxed in 3 years either, so lets stay a little balanced here.

Still not sure what JJ ceiling is as a pro. Honestly feel Quigley and Ward (eventually) are more suited to pros.

Nevin always looked a perfect amateur and never convinced he will reach that level as pro. Time will tell and hope im wrong.

Glad Jamie Kavangh got the win too

Not seen the full fight, just bits and peices and Nevin did seem to be trying too hard to score a knockout rather then relax and take his time. Probably wanted to get the knockout for the fans on St Patricks night so it's understandable and i'm sure he'll look more relaxed next fight.

    Nice one.

Just noticed that Jamie Kavanagh fought aswell, quick check on boxrec and he was KO'd in the fight previous. That went under the radar, has anyone seen this?

Agree on that he did seem to be throwing bombs with every shot, could be down to it being his debut and wanting to catch the attention and make a statement. Obviously from a technical point of view Nevin has all the ability needed, his amateur career showed that, however i wonder about his power, ability to take a shot and just his general style of fighting how far he will go in the pro game. Interesting to watch how he progresses certainly one to watch.
