This is true, but it isn't exclusive to Mayweather. People have excuses for every win Mayweather has. They also have excuses for every win Pacquiao has.

People are faster to give Pac credit than Floyd though.

He gets more credit for beating Oscar at 147, than Floyd at 154.
More credit for beating Hatton than Floyd, And more credit for beating Mosley than Floyd.

Even though they were all after. People will give more credit to Pacquiao for beating Toni at 150, than Canelo at 152.

Floyd has a hate factor, Pac doesn't.

    :deal

Also atleast Pacquiao doesn't brag on himself being the ''Greatest of all time and better than Ali or Sugar Ray Leonard etc'', that is why Mayweather gets all the hate as well.

Too bad Mayweather has the skills but honestly.. his resume is weak compared to the other ATGs.

Only a serious Garcia nuthugger would favour ANY version of Garcia over Floyd

He's always been average and stationary, perfect cherrypick for Floyd

the Herrera match just confirmed it

I'd rather hear the fan's excuses about why he won than the ones about the fight never happening.

Was this the general consensus last week? The clamour was so overwhelming that angel had to publicly pass on the fight for now. You just proved my point exactly..... By your admission matthysse is shyte right?

Really? Can't think of many who give Pacquiao much for his DLH win.

I see a day when Keith Thurman would be labelled a bum and asked who he has fought... But today, many swear he would beat floyd. What happens to porter if he loses to Pauli ?

That's my point. People are saying Thurman gives him fits, but if he beats Thurman in 2014 then it's "who did he beat" if he beats them off the biggest win of their career its "tailor made" . If he beats them off the biggest win of their career but slightly older its "past prime". If there off the biggest win of their career, but young, then there too green.

He can't win. and i dont care to defend him that much. Im just going to enjoy his last few fights.

73 fights included SRL so among that was ATG's like Leonard, Marcel and Buchanan along with Champions like Dejesus, Palomino, Ishimatsu, Kobayashi, Mamby. No one of merit... but enough for many to consider him the #1 LW of all time. :rofl

The fans are aware that Floyd ain't fighting anyone worth a damn anytime soon

Pac and Timbo? no they're with TR (as if Floyd would fight Pac anyway), Lara is too big and offers no money, GGG too big, Thurman too green, etc so there's really not much to choose from and that's why Garcia is a serious a candidate and has been for a while, Garcia's team is aware of this, they can pass on the fight for now because they know Garcia can always get the fight later as soon as he keeps winning

He's a good name on paper, undefeated, PR following is behind him, and poses absolutely no threat for Floyd stylistically speaking, so no wonder Floyd wants him

Matthyse ain't a threat for Floyd either, but I reckon he'd do much better than some of Floyd's cherrypicks like Guerrero, for example

Yes, I completely agree with you, but Floyd only gets it to a slightly higher degree. All popular boxers/athletes get the same shtick. I'm a big tennis fan and despite holding all the major open era records, Roger Federer gets constant ridicule in the tennis world for being dominant in a supposed weak era. Here are the excuses people make for Pacquiao's wins:

Morales: was 'old' at 29, weight drained, coming off loss
    Barrera: brain surgery
Cotto: damaged goods after loss to Margarito, weight drained
    DLH: old, weight drained
Hatton: made to order overrated talentless bum, win didn't count cause he'd already lost to Floyd
Marquez: lost all of his fights with Marquez, or didn't win them decisively enough for them to count
