Green was 30 when he beat Lucas. Lucas was 32 and fought for another 7 years after that.

Age has nothing to do with it, Lucas was a couple of years past his best at the time....... Compare Tyson's prime v Lewis prime? The guys were exactly the same age but ones prime was at 20 whereas the other was almost 40...... Go figure.

Lots of fighters are washed up by 30 and others are just coming to their peak. At 32 Lucas the former

his best win was the way he intimidated mundine when he turned up to the weigh in dressed as rambo..........and combined with his dolph lungren haircut.
    SO SCARY

There was nothing wrong with the Eric Lucas Green beat. He had strung 5 wins together prior to losing narrowly to Beyer for the WBC title in his fight immediately prior to meeting Green. That fight was close enough that, following a protest to the WBC, a rematch was ordered*

*The WBC allowed Beyer to make an optional defence against Green prior to the rematch. Then when Beyer was injured against Green, the WBC ordered a Green vs Lucas matchup for the interim title.

Bottom line. Green beat a very good version of Lucas.

No one said there was anything wrong with Lucas, but on his past performances his best forrm in his mid to late 20's is where he shined. He made his debut in 1991 and fought Green Jan 2004 after already fighting 30 odd times.

Put it this way, he wasn't at the peak of his powers

Best win, probs Lucas. Best loss, hard to split the man, wlod and tarver. They were all great for various reasons.

Eric Lucas was one of the top guys in the division when Green stopped him. Got to be Lucas.

Well you are going to be disappointed he's 41,hasn't fought for ages and is only interested in fighting Mundine who won't fight him. He did show interest in a Cameron rematch in N.Z but I guess even the IBO have standards and knocked it back. He will retire IMO.

Green is well and truly retired and comfortably too I'd imagine.

That's just my opinion. Who knows with these boxers but I think Greeny is done and their is no big draws out there for him that would get him a big earn that he could beat.
