Mayweather is better overall, but I think there are many thinks Marquez does better.

I think Marquez might actually be a better counter-puncher than Mayweather. Sure, he's not as elusive and good overall defensively, but at the act of counter punching I think he's slightly more lethal. He's better at throwing counter combos. Anyway, they're actually quite different fighters, though both defensive.

 

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think he's a better counterpuncher, but I do think he a more risk taking counterpunchers, which has both its pros and cons.

Speed defense and reflexes is where he has the biggest advantages. He also has a little better Ring IQ. JMM elects to brawl too much when boxing is the smarter thing to do and it has cost him in some fights. PBF can basically beat JMM at his own game that's why he was so easily able to beat him and why JMM doesn't want a rematch. With that said JMM is an elite technician who I love to see operate in the ring.

 

juan had to move up 2 weight divisions to fight the ho--. he lost power and speed because of it. plus, floyd avoided to make the contract weight of 144 so he could have more an advantage over juan. there is no coincidence why he dominated juan

 

Yet JMM has stated that he has no interest in a rematch with PBF but fought Pac 4 times.:deal PBF didn't beat JMM with size he beat him with skill.:deal PBF's win over JMM is underrated.

 

Lol I know. Floyd doesn't come into the ring any higher than 150. He and JMM were probably the same weight on fight night.

For me Mayweather is the better fighter by far, I'd JMM is 80 then Mayweather is whatever the scale goes up to, JMM is a top fighter but Mayweather is the best of my generation and when he's gone,only then will people realize how good he is or was, a pacman from a few years ago might have pushed him , but in the ring the guy is something else, outside it i don't know. Look how many world champs he beaten in a row, the stats don't lie ,whether you love him or hate him.
