Who has Stevenson beaten to be ranked P4P? Dawson, who was coming off a loss to Ward? Cloud? Bellew?

If your strongest emphasis is on "recent wins," then how in the hell is Pacquiao even on your list? Let alone in the top 5? If "stature in own division" means a lot to you too, then that further builds a case against Pacquiao as almost everyone on Earth ranks him at #4 among the WW's.

Ruslan's recent win is Alvarado and then a razor close defeat to Bradley. Alvarado. And then his next best win is...... couldn't tell you. Also, if "stature in own division" means a lot, how does he rank so high with being the consensus #3 in his division, and viewed by most as being head and shoulders below the top 2 at JWW.

Golovkin doesn't bring anything to the table that matches your criteria. His recent wins aren't over any solid top 10 opponents. He has only fought one in his whole career (epic Macklin KO). And once again, he is clearly not the best man in his division.

Your list is only a couple guys swapped out from being good. The order isn't all that bad pretty much with Pac being ahead of Bradley and JMM being your only glaring mistake.

But your criteria only proves the obvious question marks of your list to be unjustified. If your four criteria points were flipped upside down in significance, then you'd have a better argument for those. But they're not, so it makes NO sense. And that you factor in entertainment value is a joke... How does Rigo get so high ahead of others listed if that is a factor? How does Lara even make the list, which he is not on the majority of peoples', if entertainment is such a factor that it is enough to get Provodnikov and Golovkin on the list despite not meeting the other criteria.

    Just way, way too flawed.

Yes but all three of those have been in the last calendar year.

And Dawson was the lineal LHW champ, fresh off the defeat to Ward at 168, yes, but also one fight removed from handing Hopkins his widest defeat of his career.

I agree though. Stevenson clearly below many guys when considering a current P4P top 10 list.

Exactly, skill is the reason Rigo can get do high with only one good elite win

    TBH,

    1) Floyd

    2) Ward

    Everyone else

I tend to put Rigo in number 3 but he does not have the depth of resume to prove that he can beat all styles yet. A lot of people put Bradley at 3 because of his depth of resume but he really doesn't stand out in any of his fights and seems to do barely enough to win each time.

I also have trouble ranking Wlad in my 10 because if he were to weigh in the 147 range there are two many fighters who could beat him.

Serg is getting old, GGG is untested

Pac could turn back the clock

    JMM is old as serg.

Prov got beat by Bradley and Herrera

    Garcia struggled badly against Herrera

    Lara struggled against Angulo

Canelo, just got shut out by the much smaller Floyd

    Donaire's confidence seems shattered

Froch (who I never saw as elite) struggled with saint George

Stevenson and Kov are on the outside looking in.

Outside of Floyd and Ward there are just too many fighters that have a what if by their name.

jasper made a good point of having skill as a criteria.

nonito, reason why i got pac so high is because ithink he would be favourite against every fighter in a very competitive welterweight division except vs floyd.

pacquaio scores very high in ability, career accomplishments and excitement

in terms of recent wins - he beat bradley 2 years ago . 2 years just about qualifies as recent.

    Not in this thread, no.

I've been posting top 10 P4P lists as frequently as threads pop up for years now.

Would you like to see mine, or what's up?

Well then so does 2.5 years. In which case he lost to JMM... again.

There is no doubt a W over Bradley in the rematch does great things for him in the P4P sense. But until then...

Golovkin shouldn't be anywhere near a P4P list. His only great win is Macklin.

Wlad 6'7 almost 250 pounds, of course if you compare him to guys a foot shorter and 100 pounds lighter there going to have more speed and fight differantly , he uses his physical advantages, p4p has nothing to do with how they would fight if they were smaller. TBH most pound for pound lists are bull****, iv seen lots where 7-8 of the top ten fighter are in the weight classes between 140-154. P4P should take every weighclass into account and not focus on the most popular ones so much. IMO if you dont have Wlad , Roman Gonzalez and i think Mikey Garcia and Uchiyama deserve to be there or there abouts too.

    1.Floyd
    2.Rigo
    3.Ward
    4.Wlad
    5.Bradley
