Actually, Duran had real problems with boxers and Mayweather is a master boxer. Duran fought for the sheer joy of combat. He went to war and up close and personal was his favorite place cause he wanted a fighter to feel him. He loved that ****. If he couldn't achieve that then he was lost. That's why he quit in the second Leonard fight.

OK, lets look at some of the fighters that have given Mayweather competition
    1. Jose Luis Castillo
    2. Miguel Cotto

Duran has the power and speed to land on Mayweather, think the Mosely shot.....Duran sets everything up with his jab and employs educated pressure to bore in, his good foot-speed would allow him to close the distance quickly on Mayweather. Once inside Duran would maul Mayweather and dig brutal shots to the body and head. Duran would be fighting a guy 5-8 who is a light puncher. Duran is a master inside fighter with the persistence and stamina to stay on Mayweather and not let him breath for twelve rds. Duran can be dirty and knows all the little tricks. He rolls with punches and is on offense even while defending. He is a two handed fighter who can throw hooks and a straight right that can close the show with one shot, so there will be no breaks or coasting for his opponent.
Duran likes to take away the opponents jab with his own movement and jab. then when he gets in, he opens up with his power. He has also fought fighters with better offense than Mayweather and just as good defense think Benitez, the difference here is Duran wont suffer a great height disadvantage. Duran has fought greater fighters and harder punchers. Who is Mayweathers best win? CHICO Corrales?????? if Ricky Hatton can mount sustained pressure and make things unpleasant for Mayweather just how on earth does he stop Duran who is a world ahead of Hatton in every skill category as well as power, finesse and defense. Like I have said Castillo isn't even rated yet Duran is arguably the greatest lightweight ever
and greater at executing everything that Castillo did and was able to do against Mayweather and so by looking at the opposition and the success they were able to have, I can insert a fighter of greater abilities and with certainty say he would win. is this good enough for you?

Prob true. That said Duran wouldn't make it easy by turning down blood tests etc. it'd be such an obvious duck not to fight Duran it might force FMJ's hand.

Also true is that style wise Floyd is all wrong for Duran. It may look like Leonard 2. Hearns on the other hand is a nightmare for Floyd at any weight.

A bigger stronger Benitez who was more of a natural at that weight.
Benitez's size more than anything coupled with his awesome defense is what gave him that victory, but he was able to physically push Duran off which something Mayweather cant do at any weight.

Floyd looks fresh after 12 rounds, 15 would not be an issue.

Mayweather is better offensively and defensively than Benitez was. If Benitez beat Duran, Mayweather certainly could. Besides, Benitez looked a little loose at 154, I wouldn't say he was stronger than Mayweather.

Duran got shown a little movement and quit. He doesn't have the mental fortitude to win against a ring genius like Mayweather

Duran up to the first Leonard fight I'd place my money to beat Mayweather, after I like Mayweather's chances.

While I have zero doubt that Duran would maul Mayweather at any weight, I don't think we need another thread about it. Besides those who think otherwise aren't going to chance their mind regardless of what they others say or what footage they watch.

I actually think Duran's style would give Floyd far more problems than the other way around. Although Pac's a southpaw, Duran style is basically Pac on steroids and with more skill and better defense. And since we can't get Floyd into the ring with Pac, there'd be no hope of Mayweather ever fighting him. Duran wouldn't care about tests, catchweight or any of that crap, he'd fight anyone.

If Leonard can beat Duran so can Floyd. Duran is at his best when you engage him head on. Leonard made that mistake the first time around, he tried to beat Duran at his own game a failed. Floyd does not and would of not fought Duran head on. He would do what Leonard did, but with better defense to be in a position to counter Duran recklessness.
