Just rewatched the 2 fights, can anybody shed some light on why Golota got himself DQ'd? To me it looked like Bowe was ready to go in both fights, has Andrew ever gave any reasoning for his actions?

I have no idea. He was winning both fights, boxing very well, then he started smashing bollocks for some reason. I can only put it down to his mental issues.

bowe was fighting dirty too. he was one of the dirtiest fighters ever. no one ever accused golota of having a brain. poor bowe still has to live with the brain damage these fights caused.

Bowe, won both fights. Its hard to fight when you have to worry about a fighter low blows!

Bowe was outclassed from start to finish in both fights, I really think Evander even in defeat effectively ended Bowes days as a champion. He looked so slow and off balance but that may have been to his lack of preparation. I actually ran into Riddick at 4 Rivers the other day here in Orlando, he was quite friendly and more than happy to shake hands and sign an autograph, although his speech was horrible and he is def pushing 325 pounds.

Golota was very weak mentally and couldn't stand the fact that no matter what he hit Bowe with Bowe wouldn't stay down and kept fighting. I don't care what anyone says about Bowe, he was as tough as anyone. He took a tremendous beating from Golota in both fights but never gave in and continued trying to fight back. I believe at the time that Golota intentionally got disqualified in both fights he was tired both physically and mentally and though clearly getting the best of the fight had been hurt by Bowe throughout as well causing him to look for a way out.

    Maybe Golota threw both fights.

Golota was laying a beating on Bowe that's what happened.

    what happened?

Golota beat the **** out of Bowe, but that wasn't enough. He also wanted to make him into an eunuch. Twice.

I was a big fan of Bowe then. Watched both fights live at the time. Legit wins for Bowe on both. I have no idea why Golota gave away both fights in that manner. I remember his corner telling him between rounds--"stop going to the body!" or something like that.

George Foreman saved Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant from an ass whipping during the melee after the first fight.

In the2nd fight Golota was actually in trouble when he threw that COMBO to the groin. He was tired and getting countered ALOT. AG's problem was he couldn't finish, all he had was a jab and a panic reflex.
Bowe should have been finished in the 2nd round but like most times in that fight, Bowe landed his best punches when AG was trying to finish him off.

Yes. The way I saw those fights was that in the first fight Golota simply just messed up but in the second fight he was looking for a way out.

This is exactly how I saw it too.

But those fights certainly contributed to Bowes brain damage.
