Says who? 3 of 4 is needed to be undisputed but not establish lineage, which merely requires consensus 1 vs. 2 or 3.

consensus ain't enough. to establish a new lineage, you have to be undisputed/3 of the 4.

So you agree Pacquiao didn't go lineal at 130 then, right? After all, the Marquez fight had only one belt on the line. He also never won the lineal title at flyweight, since what everyone calls the lineal title there was never in fact the lineal title, having been determined by a fight with only a single belt on the line in 1975.

I can tell you one thing. Pac has no trouble making 140. After last weekends debacle, who wins between Pac and Danny Boy? Pac ****s that **** up.

no he wasn't lineal, but it was for the ring title because the rules say the number 1 and 3 guys can fight for the title. Garcia was 3 and Khan was 1 after Peterson failed his drug test.

I didn't acknowledge Garcia as the lineal champ until he beat Matthysse

He beat all the top dogs at the weight. He is undoubtedly the linear champion at 140.

Try again. Morales had the WBC belt; he may have given it up on the scale but Garcia still beat him in the ring. Likewise, Khan was justifiably given the WBA belt back due to the shenanigans from the Peterson fight. And Matthysse was pretty much the uncrowned IBF champion.

I don't even like Garcia much, hated the decision to put The Ring belt on the line for the Khan fight, and thought he got a gift against Herrera, but the length some of you are going to in order to discredit his work in the division is simply absurd.

Who cares? We all have our own opinions about who is the best in a weight class and who has the best resume.

Yes there's no lineage in the division that extends throughout the entire history of boxing, and vacancies exist in boxing. Nevertheless, Garcia has done plenty to establish a new lineage himself, more than Bradley who left the division while Khan still had just as much a claim to the throne.
