Duran is greater and better and its as clear as day on film. Duran was a dynamic pressure fighter, mercurial and vicious. I have no doubt Duran beats the **** out of Mayweather who hasnt seen no where near the type of skill, smarts and power Duran carries. Floyd is but the dust on which Duran walks.

He'd beat Pac too. Duran's better than both. That's no insult, Duran's better than 99.99999% of fighters that have ever laced them up.

Floyd has grown into quite the strong WW. His "lack of physical strength" is a common misconception that many of his foes fail to realize until they're in the ring with him.

IMO, Floyd's defense would frustrate Duran and he would proceed to pick him apart as rounds went on. Sound familiar?

Mayweather's neither as good as Leonard nor has his Leonard's footwork. And he's never been tested by the level of comp Duran and Leonard were.

Castillo never beat Floyd "fair and square"

It was a very even matchup, in both fights. I had Floyd ahead, Castillo gave him stylistical fits, but Floyd dug through the trenches with injuries.

If anything, I think it's applicable to call those fights tests, tests that Floyd came out from a greater fighter.

Duran would quit after getting tired of flailing around and missing...

In prime, genuinely dedicated Roberto Duran, quitting?

There's a bigger chance of having Charlie Zelenoff fight professionally without quitting.

Castillo beat Floyd pretty clearly in the first fight and the *****s will eternally and infinitely be butthurt about it. As for Duran, he's a top 5 atg for a reason. Floyd with a his defense wouldn't do **** to Duran. Duran wasn't pouncing on Srl like he was in the first fight. If you a true boxing fan you knew Duran hated Srl's guts. Watch the rematch and right after the bell rings for round 1, Roberto wants to touch gloves with Leonard! Wtf? Definitely not the same Duran. And even that watered down version of Duran was STILL giving Srl a tough fight. Floyd would have no chance vs Montreal Duran. Other versions, perhaps, but Floyds competition weak compared to Durans. Floyd on his best night is no Leonard, Hearns, or Benitez. His A game hasn't been brought out since Castillo even he admitted that. Duran would retire all of Floyds opponents its a joke to compare Floyd to Duran.

Who, in the current era, would win the most rounds against Floyd?

I'm not sure I'd pick any lightweight over Duran, except MAYBE for Whitaker.

Duran was very quick on his feet and mixed offense & defense as well as anyone to ever box. He had a wide arsenal of punches. Similar to Mayweather, he had a tendency to have a little pause in his combinations, when an opening was there. Instead of 1-2-3, more like 1-2------3. And they make it work.

Mayweather is very adapatable, intelligent, and resourceful. He would obviously try to use movement and angles on Duran. When up close, it could get pretty dirty on both sides.

I pick Duran to win a competitive decision. Duran was real hot-and-cold at 154, and not as light on his feet at that weight and stage in his career. Neither was Floyd, but I like his chances against Duran @ 154 more than @ 135 and @ 147 (especially the Duran of the Palomino and first Leonard fight)
