Why hasn't Pac looked impressive the last few years?

I am a believer that Pacquiao was using some form of illegal substance during the peak of his career, but besides that, history has shown that his style of fighting isn't one to be carried successfully into your mid-late 30s.

I think Pacman has looked impressive the last few years. You don't need to knock out every single one of your opponents, it's recommended but not mandatory.

Pacman still has very good power and blinding handspeed. Aside from getting knocked out by Marquez in a fight where it looked like Pacman was about to finish him off, Manny has done very well for himself in the higher weights. It's foolish to think he'll KO guys at 147 on a regular basis. He's done very well for himself and I thought he had a dominant victory over RIos in his comeback fight.

He was all about athleticizm and usually, that's the first to go with age.

 

He just doesn't look good against fighters who use movement and good defense. He looked somewhat tentative against Rios, probably because he is trying to avoid unneccesary punishment since the Marquez stoppage. Not to mention, he is getting older.

 

Hunger, determination and discipline.

Now he's achieved wealth, fame and is a politician (ie not 100% focused on boxing which was critical to his success)

You mean gambling. The guy owes what 2 billion something in taxes in his country? What a good representative of the people he is. He should be ashamed he's a congressman.

 

He hasn't fought over the hill fighters in awhile with the exception of Marquez who still destroyed him. He faced Rios and Bradley, prime fighters, but new to 147. Even before Marquez ruined him he looked terrible vs Bradley.

 

Nobody is perfect, including Manny Pacquiao.

I don't bother with his out of the ring antics, all I really care about is how he performs in the squared circle, and he's faded.

This ^^. No fighters peak lasts forever. Pac has performed at a high level for a long time. He is 35 now and has had a long career going through weight divisions. Did people think he was gonna stay in his prime forever?

 

bored, shot, recently kod pac gonna beat up ortrezz, guererre0, madona, drainelo, concaine and pedjr in the same night, tag team wwe style.

 

He's not looked too bad to be honest.

People are way too quick to jump on his back for getting sparked by Marquez but consider this: before the KO, he was looking as good as ever since Marg/Cotto. I thought it was going to be a repeat of the 3rd fight (Manny throwing combos with his eyes closed and Marquez clocking him with decent counter combos) but was pleasantly surprised to see Pac throwing more meaningful/accurate combos and actually winning the fight prior to being KTFO.

He came back from the loss and danced circles around Rios who, although has never been a technical boxer, certainly does carry some power in his punches and could well have caused an upset over a potentially damaged Manny.

He beat Bradley in the 1st fight. Not much to say there other than Bradley is a bloody good fighter and a "win" over him counts for an awful lot.

The rematch with Bradley will tell us exactly where Manny is. I personally expect Bradley to dictate the fight the way he did in the final quarter of the 1st and earn himself a relatively clear UD victory. A "genuine" win (i.e. no shitty judging controversy) for either is very significant and would secure higher rankings in the p4p lists.
