http://www.cyberboxingzone.com/blog/?p=18937 Here's a fighter that doesn't get much press these days. What a left hook!
Interesting interview but he says he only worked with D'Amato and Jacobs for one fight which isnt true. He was with them in 1974 for the Mustapha Muhammad fight and at least a few more around then I believe.
Would have loved to have seen the fight between him and Mustafa Muhammad. There had to have been fireworks when they started trading.
That's no reflection against Cyclone tho. An early-career Hagler once said Cyclone had him on ***** street after one of those left hooks.
No not at all. It just is what it is. Eddie was a bad matchup for Hart. That being said I think Hart was probably the most limited of the Philly fivesome (Briscoe, Hayward, Hart, Monroe, Watts). Some might say Hayward based on his record against those guys but Hayward was really a naturally smaller fighter despite his height and at a big disadvantage particularly against Hart, Monroe, and Watts who were all big middleweights at 6'. One thing though thats not up for debate is Hart's punching power.
