"style wise Floyd is all wrong for Duran. It may look like Leonard 2 "

Floyd would never have the balls to stand flatfooted and engage the way Sugar did that night .

Nor does he have the same workrate or punching power that Sugar possesses which overwhelmed Duran and made him quit .

I envision Floyd trying to potshot Duran all night .

Fair enough but please don't use Duran-Leonard 2 as a reason why Floyd could beat Duran. Leonard is a totally different stylist to Floyd and SRL even admitted himself that Duran was not in the same condition as the first fight. Team Leonard knew Duran was eating like a pig and partying a lot after Montreal so they offered Duran crazy money to take the fight at a date he would struggle to make. Durans team, Leonards team, they all knew it was not the same Duran, mentally and physically. The other times Duran has been outboxed he was past his best fighting bigger men bar De Jesus 1.
As well as Duran has proved poorer versions of him can be outboxed, Floyd has proved in fights he can be frustrated by pressure. The two Castillo fights tell me a lot on how Duran-Mayweather would pan out at lightweight. Floyd getting a serious work over is what would happen. The Duran who fought Benitez would struggle vs Floyd but Floyds lack of work rate and power is a huge negative for him vs Duran, any version of Duran

Floyd would be a nightmare for Alexis imo. If they fought a trilogy I would pick Floyd 2 to 1.

Paul Williams would have been a guaranteed loss for Mayweather .

How does Floyd keep Williams off of him ????? How does Floyd stop Williams workrate throwing 100 punches a round ???? Theres a reason why Floyd does fight many high volumes punchers .

Sugar Shane , Margarito ,Cotto , and Pacquiao were all threats to him .

If Floyd beats Bradley, Garcia, and Lara in his next few fights, where does he rank all time?

A lot of people's misconception about Duran is that he was just a bully/brawler, when in reality, 'Hands of Stone' was a hell of a boxer.

The statement above is precisely why it is useless to argue with these Duran dead-enders.

This same poster presents an (edited, more on that later) article from the time when Mayweather was retired (2009) with numerous boxing experts discussing the matchup. NONE of them believe it would be a cakewalk for Duran. Some, like Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, won't even pick a winner.

And yet, anyone on this forum who has the gall to believe the same as they do (close, tough fight) with the exception of believe Mayweather could win, is reduced to being 'a kid'.

    Hilarious.

And by the way, if you're going to real about it, the least you could do is post ALL the opinions given in that article (link here). Strangely, you left out Carlos Ortiz, who said the following:

Guess the Hall of Famer and former world LW champ is a 'kid' too who hasn't seen Duran either. :verysad

Seeing that Floyd ducked Paul Williams and Antonio Margarito, we can assume he would have ducked Duran too. Floyd hates pressure fighters.

You wont find too many bright guys in ESB. Trying to convince these guys is useless. The MAJORITY of people with any real boxing knowledge know Duran would beat FLoyd.

Yeah, Duran can't be judged on fights where speed, footwork, defense, and punching accuracy made him QUIT in frustration, because, you know, he 'wasn't at his best'.

But 6 rounds of Castillo getting in some decent work (after basically getting blanked in the first 6 rounds) against a bad shouldered Mayweather is all we need to see to know that Mayweather 'gets a serious work over' against Duran.

    Classic. :verysad

I edit most of my posts. I read them after I post them and more often than not add something extra or fix typo's. Most of my posts get edited.

As for the article, I've not seen the actual article. I copied it from a post on an old thread on another boxing forum so the exclusions have nothing to do with me :good
As well as there's pro's and trainers who pick Duran there's ones who have picked Floyd and I have never denied that.
The kid comment was more aimed at the *****'s with the opinion Duran is just a brawler that Floyd could expose or easily adjust to. I post on other forums so know these guy's exist in their droves.
