I never thought he had a chance. Mayweather just to good, to accurate, to fast. I just remeber what Judah had did to him and times that by 10 and add heart and Cotto loses easy

That's just according to them, we don't know for sure.. What's true is, Margarito asked Mayweather to fight him personally, face to face..

WHat you said about the PBF-SSM fight was true, but that post of mine that you quoted is a response for a certain poster.. If you would just read that part again, we don't need a debate.. :hey

    pedjr is easy to read.

when he doesnt like the fight, he will offer or ask something he knows he wont get.

use that excuse to scurry off to africa.

No version of Cotto would of beaten Mayweather. Lesser opponents have given Cotto problems and droped him.

The last fight PBF was prime was against JMM. If Cotto fights any of those versions of PBF he would get schooled and stopped. Cotto at 154 was better equipped to deal with a past prime PBF. He fought the right fight educated pressure behind a jab and used his strength even then he came up way short. Only a complete fool thinks Cotto beats a prime version of PBF.:deal

Right... Because Cotto and Gatti are both the same talent-wise.

    Wrong.

No. But neither are Cotto and Floyd. If an older, slower, heavier Floyd dominated Cotto at a weight he was comfortable at, how would Cotto deal with Floyd at a weight where his blend of power and speed is at its peak?

Floyd lost power and speed moving to 147, at 140 he was a different monster. Im an avid Cotto fan too.

A prime Miguel Cotto doesn't think so.

He confirmed that in 2006, he and his team declined a JWW showdown with Mayweather because "we weren't ready for him then."

Not a chance. He was never in Mayweather's league. In his prime he was very good but never great. One of those guys that the best use to hone their greatness and solidify reputations. If Zab Judah was a gatekeeper for champions, then maybe Cotto should be one for hall of famers. Only the best guys get by him like Mayweather and Pacquiao.
