    Trout was flicking with his punches and missing with a lot of them. Alvarez built up a lead then switched into defensive mode, slipping and dodging Trout's flicking punches and making him look very mediocre at times. What some people call stamina issues I call going into cruise control.

    It can happen .

    Canelo packs a heavy punch and Trout confirmed that to all of us when he got caught and his legs gave out in 7th .

    But i would not bet on that result .

    People were sour because of the scorecards, which told you that Canelo was never losing that fight. IMO the knockdown was the difference and Canelo eeked it out.

    It's pretty telling that Showtime couldn't get anything out of that fight beyond the knockdown and an uppercut to show in highlight reels for Alvarez. Not that Trout was landing anything of significance, but Alvarez really didn't do anything to distance himself in what was supposed to be his coming out party (at least against a genuine top level contender.)

    Not when the other opponent is landing power punches and you continue to just stick to landing jab after jabs .

    The judges are going to lean towards the power punches .

    The uppercut was the punch that Trout had no answer for . He was walking into it all night .

    Canelo landed way more than just 1 uppercut .

    there is plenty of gifs from that fight, surprised you havent see any yet...
    anyway i watched that live at the alamodome and everytime canelo landed that right on trouts chest it felt and sounded really bad... it pushed trout and it almost felt like he was going down...
