You can see Augustus dip down like that two times at the start of the clip without getting punched, that's just how he moves. You wouldn't stop a fight because a fighter felt a body shot anyway, it was stopped because Augustus had no chance of winning and he had no respect for Floyd's punches.

He was a 4 year pro, and still got the job done. I don't see the point of your thread

This thread shows you just how great a floyd is, people have to resort to nitpicking a 14 year old fight that he won by tko. :lol

you seem to be all over the place...you say mayweathers d isnt as good as toneys or peas because he got hit against burton yet toney lost to complete bums in his career. what is your general thesis of this thread? what is the main point you are trying to get across? tell me that so i can better debate you please.

That's just what happened, makes no difference to anything.

An olympian with 4 years pro experience getting bashed around by a journeyman. The point is that people should think about that when they criticise and write off Lomachenko when he lost a controversial decision against a 147lb belt holder in his second pro fight. I've seen people claim that Lomachenko has poor defence despite not taking any punishment against Salido and yet the same person will claim that Floyd has ATG defence despite getting hit repeatedly by Augustus. My point there is the double standards.
And then my next point was that when watching the Augustus fight I understand why Floyd is so safety first now and why he was reluctant to fight Pac.
Do you need anything else explained to you?

    See above.

Yes Toney lost to complete bums, yes Toney has better defence on the inside than Floyd. What's your point?

    yadda yadda yadda ...

floyd hater: I don't like Floyd so he sucks at everything. I'll rewatch old tapes with a revisionist mind.

floyd fan: deal with it, nobody cares about your whining

You learned why a man is so safety first NOW (in the present), off a fight that took place FOURTEEN YEARS AGO, and in that FOURTEEN YEAR SPAN, HE'S TAKEN ON BETTER FIGHTERS? :tired You don't make sense.

Loma will improve. He just needs to adjust his game, and stopped being moved so fast. AMs and PROs are not the same. And don't compare Loma to Floyd. Please. It's disrespectful .

That doesn't make sense. You don't make sense. Put down the henny

Paraphrasing: "Yes, He lost to complete bums and he has better defense than the guy who hasn't lost to bums or elite fighters" :tired:-(

Because Augustus was not your typical textbook boxer and he could take an ass whooping and keep coming.

Maidana is going to give mayweather a tougher fight than canelo mark my words, because maidana throws unorthodox punches from all angles. Mayweather's defense is almost impeccable against boxers like canelo or marquez.

Pac would also give mayweather a lot of problems because of pac's awkward punches, toughness and work rate.

You're right, Lomachenko doesn't deserve that.

Oh so a fight is won (regardless of styles, match up, quality etc.) based on who has the better defence. Joe Calzaghe has better defence than James Toney, Pernell Whitaker, Hopkins, Pep etc. according to your simplistic, ****** logic.
And I'm the one who makes no sense?:patsch

Good fight vs a game opponet! But... Floyd showed he's versatile by staying in the pocket and beating up Augustus in a stoppage win!

So you're downplaying Floyd's defensive capabilities because of a competitive fight he had with a tough as nails journeyman that he won from start to finish nonetheless? What point are you trying to make exactly?
