Thompson schooled solis as expected.

Solis boxed well at times and has all the tools to fight and beat some top 10 contenders. I had TT winning 8-4, good performance for TT.

Thompson won

 

Bit surprising so many people were picking Solis. Yeah, Thompson is 40+ and Solis has some real talent but he is simply too lazy and out of shape to beat a smart veteran fighter like Thompson, even a 40+ one.

 

Thompson gets perpetually undersold on here. He doesn't pop out as being some juggernaut, but big, crafty, awkward southpaws don't need to jump out on film in order to be damn hard to beat.

 

ppl like myself who used to follow solis get caught up with the great fighter he was and not the overweight lazy waste of talent he has become...solis used to be one the craftiest best fighters on the planet...then he put on 60 pounds...became slower, and less conditioned...thompson was fighting horrible but i still had him winning 117-111 due to solis throwing too little punches...solis showed glimpses of him old self...but just little glimpses...its the same as the *******s thinking pacquiao is still the same fighter he was, and still thinking he can beat bradleys and mayweathers....ppl have a hard time noticing when a fighter is on a downhill slide

 

Thompson is still underrated. Wilder refused to fight Thompson and it's a good thing he did refuse. Vladimir Klitschko knocked Thompson out two times. Thompson won the fight, no doubt about it..............

 

Thompson is solid veteran and would give most heavyweights today a good scrap. I give Price credit for trying to tackle him twice. We know a lot of fighters avoid him like the plague. Too much risk, no reward.

 

I picked Solis to win a close fight mainly due to Thompson's age and the fact he came in at a career heavy weight. I clearly under rated Thompson.

As for Solis, both times he's stepped up he has lost convincingly. He's clearly been living off his amateur success but in reality he is not a top contender.

 

Most of todays schools are just so so... Teachers (like Tony) put in just enough effort to make most students pass with just enough points.
So, it's a modern 'schooling' :yep

Thompson is a good fighter. In fact, who besides Wlad has really beaten him in the past several years.

 

Well, you can see two judges had it much closer than it really was (in favour of Solis of course), and one of them had it completely wrong (8 rounds for Solis? which fight was he watching?).

Anyway, before the fight I thought they are both similarly bad, so Solis will be able to make enough competitive rounds to leave the rest of the work to the judges. It turned out he was so fat&lazy he left virtually all the work to them... and it still almost worked.

 

Iceman or whatever his username is was ADAMENT that Solis was gonna win. Goes to show he knows **** all about boxing. I was one of the few posters picking Thompson to win.
