They co-existed for 7 years as WBO & IBF title holders, how will a unification fight go in the neutral Germanic speaking city of Amsterdam :bbb

Is this for real. Calzaghe would absolutely spank Otkke. I think even his haters that are still upset that he ruined Lacy and Jones Jr will agree with this.

Ottke wasn't interested in fighting Calzaghe, how the **** can you never leave Germany, get as many gifts as him, have undefeated champions in your division and then pronounce you're retiring without ever fighting anyone of note.

All the negative haters say about Calzaghe is really fooking justified when it comes to Ottke, the guy was a decent boxer but talk about clinging on to a shitty undefeated record by the skin of your teeth.

Calzaghe cleaned up the division, Ottke didn't even consider it once and when he did test the waters he ended up getting beat clear enough only to get a hometown decision.

I think you just need to watch some Ottke fights and you'll have your answers. Horrible style but given hometown ref, difficult to dominate. Reid floored him, ref ruled it a slip and told him off for slapping

Joe wanted this fight, but Ottke didn't. Can't blame him as no one in boxing history can beat Joe at 168, and most likely 175 too.

Ottke is probably underrated by many, simply because of the farce that was the Reid fight.... and being very protected.

He was a very good, although not great, fighter.

Calzaghe would of won easily though.

Nah. Joe wouldn't fight Ottke in Germany even though Ottke was the man to beat, so what could Ottke do?

I dont know if he was protected. He fought and clearly beat the Glen Johnson that Calzaghe didn't fight.

Ottke was more dominant than Calzaghe

His 3 ATG feats, he has on Calzaghe at 168

    #1 IBF > WBO 1990s early 2000s
#2 First man to defeat Rudy Mundine doing so by KO
#3 Never ever floored all his life, even as an infant :boxer

Joe would beat him on neutral territory but it would be a clear decision with Joe's featherfists unable to stop a cagey Otkke.

Joe wasn't THAT good to blitz him, and Ottke wasn't awful across the board.

In Wales or Germany itsdifferent, each would have a referee with which to stop the fight very prematurely, or hand them the decision.
