    That's nonsense.
Russell is more deserving of a title shot than a amateur just turning pro, especially now against a 1-1 pro.

According to the official records (FightFax), Lomachenko was 7-0 heading into that fight with Salido. On top of that, Salido missed weight and weighed 147 on fight night. That's seven more than he weighed in his last fight. Featherweights don't weigh 147 on fight night. Lastly, a 4th rd KO of Jose Ramirez and a SD loss to Salido are both better than anything on Russell's record. Gary's been taking it extremely slow, and that's fine, but having a lot of wins over tomato cans and a pretty undefeated record doesn't make him deserving of a title shot in the least bit.

Sure it makes Russell more deserving.
So what if Loma fought an small champion in his second Pro fight. He lost, which proves he wasn't ready.
The point of bringing your fighter up slow is not to put them in with the highest quality opposition, but rather to put them in with many different profession styles. That way, they learn to adapt to styles to win.

Loma does not understand this. He fought the wrong style and lost. He is still an amateur while Russell is a solid pro.
Loma didn't deserve the fight with Saildo and he lost. He doesn't deserve a 2nd shot at the title, and he will lose again. Where will he be then?
I'll tell you where he'll be. After he loses again, His fickle fans will be echoing everything I've just said above.

Actually the stylistic advantage is with Loma. Look for Gary to avoid this match up. It's a very bad match up for him on many different levels but I think Gary would make us all proud.....I just don't believe he has the tools or experience to over come Loma at this stage of his career.

After watching both of Loma's 2 Pro fights, I give the style and experience advantage to GRJ.
Only concern I have is Gary's hands. He may break them on Loma's face. :yep

Interesting perception you have.....but we are a few years away from you really having to worry about Russell having to face Loma since his handlers understand just how bad of a move it is to put a kid like Loma in front of their charge. Russell is very talented, no doubt but talent isn't enough to overcome all the other disadvantages await him if taking this kind of a leap up in comp. Russell could have faced Salido already but that was too much if a risk.....Loma is just as much of a risk for Junior at the moment. We'll see how he does in his next fight and hopefully it will be a realistic step up for him.

A featherweight, who's agreed to fight at a featherweight limit, should not find himself in the ring with a 147 lb man on fight night. And Salido would've weighed much less if he had made weight, as evidenced by his rehydrated weight in the previous fight (140). He didn't lose a featherweight fight, so I don't see why he can't get a chance against someone who'll make weight.

Not to mention it was a close fight, split decision and Salido was in trouble late in the fight. I don't see how pushing a champion with a weight advantage to the limit is a career setback.

If Lomachenko loses to Russell, he'll have to rebuild himself, but I don't see any problem with getting this experience. I think he'll learn much more quickly by fighting guys like Salido and Russell Jr. than guys like the ones Gary's been fighting.

    He still has world records

First subzero champion [Pendleton close case winning big 14-13], thanks to uncle Roger :happy

Then he ruined the subzero record becoming the IBF 135 champion at 32-17 :bbb

Loma loves records & he will make history in the pros win or lose...All pressure is on GRJ chin :deal

Odd how the same people compare/predict every good Eastern European fighter to turnout like Bute. Yet they do not see race. They simply have a problem with their fans.

My only regret in life is that I cannot build a fire big enough to throw you all into!

Thats how the world will get burned...a guy with your own mindset will get access to Nukes...starting nuking dirty people...including near by towns :nut

Its a reaction to an action :huh

Wilder is so kind really, all he wants is to beat up the best guys, help woman climax for the first time in their life & entertain us :happy

I am not trying to justify my admiration of the G.O.A.T puncher Deontay Wilder, I am just hoping this doesn't bother you...as this is not my intent :conf

When GRJ gets soundly trounced, will you jump ship to the next Berto/Broner/Lacy hype job?
