What the Hell is Al Hayman up to?

Of course! One has roots deeply seeded inside the sport where the other is a rapper/business man who took a stab at being a boxing promoter. Easier said than done is what I believe De La Hoya hit 50 with as parting words in their brief twitter war. Haymon has a much better foundation to form a successful promotional company. 50 tried but it seems his venture did not turn out the way he had hoped.....his fighters haven't really been impressive and the rapper turned promoter hasn't been well received by the other promoters so he can't work with a lot of other promoters outside of Top Rank.

 

Al Haymon will probably start strong arming promoters, networks and maybe even fighters.
He seems to somewhat care for his fighters. He definitely makes them money.

 

It's not the paydays I'm complaining about is it? It is te inherent corruption that usually follows one guy having too much control and the best fights not being made as the protect their own financial interests by keeping fighters away from challenges.

It's not gonna change because I don't like it but that doesn't mean I'm wrong in my opinion. Now go back to doing whatever losers like you do when you're not bothering people online.

Pretty sad that Al Haymon somehow has fanboys. Trend is obvious though, some people who worship Floyd also seem to worship Haymon because he is tied to Floyd.

Concentrations of power are bad for fans and fighters in the long run. It doesnt matter if Haymon turns out to be "less bad" than King or whomever. Its still not a good thing.

 

Maybe Congress will pass a bill to break him up if it gets too bad, into the Baby Haymons. :yep

 

Which eventually drags other counter power to meddle in boxing, how you think Arum and King started...When the empire becomes corrupt new reigns start...

Nothing can stop a good paying determined new comer, other than time...when they starting depending on boxing $, they become weaker

When they have surplus $ they can use early on to create havoc...thats the best part...very common practice not just in boxing

 

Al Haymon is not good for boxing fans. He rarely puts his best fighters in against one another. He will perpetuate the Gary Russell Jr "TBA" strategy for his fighters.

 

50 had the right idea, he signed some very talented fighters. But he can't make other promoters work with him. Even Top Rank is being uncooperative. e.g. Arum won't do business with Gamboa bc he left the company and refused to fight Rios.

50 likes to keep it real, unfortunately thats too impulsive for boxing. For what he had in mind he needed at least $ 2 Billion strictly for boxing..,then he can enforce those kind of tournaments he had in mind, within one year nobody will be undefeated :yep

 

I think you are being unfair and underestimating the boxers themselves.
Skilled boxers still want the belts, the titles and the recognition, plus they want to get paid.
I think Haymon's value is to create conditions giving them the best opportunity in the present climate to meet most or all of these objectives.

I doubt that it favors Haymon to keep Russell indefinitely fighting low tier opposition.
I'm thinking there must be something else behind Russell's slow movement, and it's not Haymon.
