In your opinion, whats a bigger fight? And im telling you .. HBO will have the fight. Kovalev is the main event this weekend on HBO. And he'll be fighting there from now on.
Fat Dan's twisting the facts. HBO won't agree to show Stevenson-Fonfara if Stevenson doesn't sign an agreement to face Kovalev in the fall. Stevenson it appears has no intention of fighting Kovalev and plans on going over to Showtime to fight the 50 year old Hopkins should he make it past Shumenov (or even Shumenov for that matter). HBO simply won't be pimped anymore by cowardly fighters like Stevenson and his slimy advisor Haymon.
If Showtime is putting up more money for Stevenson's fights, more power to them. No duck, it's a fukkin business people. HBO's boxing budget is not what it used to be.
And the 36 year-old Stevenson evidently won't be pimped anymore by networks who want him to do whatever they say and accept whatever they offer no questions asked.
something like that but no one is actually getting screwed. Kovalev just doesnt have the fan base. He only made 20k against Campillo.
Any money that scumbag earns should go into a victims restitution fund for all the people who's lives he ruined.
How dare HBO expect Stevenson to take a hard fight after agreeing to give him an easy one. And how dare they not agree to pay Stevenson more for this easy fight and then give him the option to go straight to their rival network for a big fight there? Showtime prevents HBO from getting a big fight, Haymon possibly squeezes more out of HBO otherwise gets a Stevenson-Hopkins/Shumenov fight then possibly the Kovalev fight later for more money.
some of yall are ******ed. Stevenson has a fight next in May. He was going to fight in HBO for a certain amount of money. Now another network is coming and telling him they'll broadcast his fight for more money. Why are yall bitching? Kovalev can follow suit and fight on Showtime. Golden Boy Promotions are banned from HBO, but other promoters are still free to fight on Showtime
How dare Stevenson not merely respond "How high" whenever Hershman says "Jump" and how dare he seek to maximize his reward from fights. What a tragedy each of these things is, never mind the possibility of all of them occurring!
Or Showtime is the only network putting any money on the table. Maybe HBO doesn't want to put any token on that fight!
