I think Shumenov will be too much for B-Hop

When has Hopkins ever got the benefit of a bad decision?

Hopkins has really regressed even from just a few years ago. I rode confidently with Bhop in his fight with Cloud but he really got tagged a lot by Murat. And it wasn't by choice (most of it). At some point, he has to lose, even against hand picked styles like Shumenov. If he beats Shumenov,, it just further enhances his legacy. But I would not be shocked one bit if he loses. This could very well be a case of a cherry pick gone wrong. You knew the moment Hopkins jumped in the ring in Shumenov's last fight, Hopkins had picked Shumenov as his next opponent.

Yeah... He didn't look so good against murat. I don't like Hopkins chances much. Even if his style should beat shumenov...I just think hes starting to show his age now...

I totally disagree. thats not what I saw in the Murat fight. I saw a Bhop that had zero respect for his opponentssills and power. he didnt care to move his head or get out of the way because he knew there was zero chance of him getting hurt. it looked like a Bhop that was trying to put on an entertaining fight and he knew he could do it without worryin avout what was coming back. Against Shum i promise you that youll see the normal defensive and methodical BHop.

Nah, he's big and explosive but he really doesn't bring anything to the table that Hopkins hasn't seen a hundred times. B-Hop UD.

There were times when he did that but other times when he just couldn't avoid the punches. Fact is, the Hopkins that fought Pascal would've boxed circles around Murat. Maybe we will see the old Bhop with his control of distance and fighting in his Sunday drive style given the step up in comp from Murat to Shumenov. We'll have to see. But I didn't like what I saw in the Murat fight. He took some hard, flush shots. The type of shots you never seen him get hit with in the past.

There comes a point when old B-Hop has regressed so much that he won't even be able to beat the likes of Schumi using his experience, skill and 'craftiness', but I don't think it's this fight.
It's pretty unlikely that he can beat the likes of Stevenson and certainly Kovalev at this stage of his career, but I'm pretty sure he can still edge himself past Shumenov.

So true. Hopkins would only have one lost if that was the case!

    This! :deal

BHOP was out to hurt Murat, and Murat resorted to excessive fouling to keep that from happening. Hopkins distractors always accuse him of dirty fighting, but in that fight it was Murat doing it all.
