Hi guys, you probably know me, if at all, as a troll and a bit of a nobpiece, but i do respect the pool of knowledge on this board and I am asking for a little help. I have an assignment to do concerning bias in the media. I was going to go with the Left/Right Wing, Gaurdian/Daily Mal bull**** concerning the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle, as my class is full of full-****** fashion liberals and it'd be a little too heavy and insulting for them.

I've decided to go with boxing/MMA being portrayed as bloodsports. Obviously my aim is to trash this notion, and i'm wondering if you gents and scholars could point me towards some relevant stuff which might help with my presentation. I'm planning on suggesting that it is foremost a profession, rather than a sport, an opportunity for the working class to rise socially, whereas they would otherwise be unable to, or at least highly unlikely to. I'm also going to touch on the fact that many sports and professions have a much higher death/injury rate than boxing. In summary, i'm wanting to say that there are many sportier and bloodier bloodsports, so **** you bias media. I would greatly appreciate any input you guys could offer.

    Regards

    Pachilles

look at how ufc is advertised, what are their advertisement clips - blood? knockouts?

ufc has less serious injuries and deaths than boxing because the nature of ufc including different way to knockout your opponent and smaller gloves means quicker ko's and less repeated blows as seen in boxing

i think ufc fighters sustain more concussions.

fighters are mostly black, skiers are mostly white - is there bias because of this? but boxing is humans inflicting damage on other humans, skiing is not

Specifically, can anyone link to to the instance in which the civil war in the phillipines called a timeout to watch a manny pacquiao fight?

I'm not sure your premise holds water to be honest. The media doesn't necessarily hold boxing/MMA in that simplistic regard but it is in fact a violent blood sport.

Islamophobia is a good and easy 1 to highlight, if you're studying Media Studies teachers/markers love a good expose on Islamophobia.

**** off and do the research yourself.

Hopefully you get your skull bashed in by a pacifist classmate who finally snaps at what he sees as an insipid hipster glorification of vulgar brutality. Then outed as a pedo after you die, so your family can no longer properly grieve.
