Yeah if he was 32, he's ducking. The man is damn near 40, not everybody wants to get brain damage fighting too long. Plus a GGG victory is not guarantee.

It's just talk. Sergio will NOT retire after beating Cotto, unless he suffers another injury.

No doubt he is clearly scared stiff of GGG he doesn't want to fight Golovkin end of.

Genuine retirement's not a duck; however, GGG's been the most deserving MW for longer than retirement was the option.

An understandable duck, and one I won't hold too much against Sergio given the context of the rest of his career, but make no mistake- not fighting GGG was, in fact, a duck.

I have no problems whatsoever with whatever decision he decides after the Cotto fight.

The guy is in his late 30's now, for him to continue fighting for much longer would pose some serious risks to his health.

Personally if he decided to continue on fighting after the Cotto fight (I hope Sergio looks like his old self in the fight,) I'd rather he takes on Canelo or FLoyd at a catchweight. He'd earn so much more fighting either one of those guys than facing Golovkin. He deserves to be rewarded with big money fights at this stage of his career.

i mean this is the same guy that took on a prime Paul WIlliams twice. I don't think he's avoiding GGG because he's scared to fight the guy, I just think at this stage in his career he's looking for the big paydays, and rightfully so.

Anyone who calls Sergio a ducker is an uneducated boxing fan.

If he wins, the payday against Alvarez will easily drive him out of it.

I dunno why I said that. ESB is full of uneducated fans. I should expect nothing less from these twerps. 50 bucks says someone will make fun of my username and point to that, alluding that I am a fan of a PED fighter and that my opinion is invalid.

    I know it's coming...
