After years of hype, can we finally agree that Bute was just never that good?

Bute's heart is pathetic. I hate to knock a fighter like that, but it's true. What a disgraceful effort he put forth against Pascal. I don't care to ever see him in the ring again.

I actually think he was pretty good but Froch beat the career out of him. Similar to Calzaghe beating the career out of Jeff Lacy (who again, proved he was a pretty good fighter with his performances prior to that fight).

Some boxers just can't take an utter schooling.

    Ward still ducked Bute though.

    Bute Resume = GGG Resume

    Bute Fans = GGG Fans

According to Bute fans, he could beat any one in the pros. This, while he had fought no one.

According to GGG fans, he can beat anyone in the Pros. This, while he had fought no one.

The spirit of Bute types lives on in the delusional minds of the insane. Insane types who are now GGG's most vocal fans.

When GGG finally steps up, don't be surprised when he is revealed to be the reincarnation of Lucien Bute.

Yes, the same people that nuthugged Bute are now on GGG's dick, slobbering.

Mind you, before the Froch trashing, they were saying GGG was too small for Bute, when in reality GGG knocked him SPARK OUT in the ams.

The problem with saying that Bute wasn't so good to begin with is that you discredit Froch's fantastic win over him.

I do think Bute was overrated, yes. However, he definitely improved after the first Andrade fight which ended in a huge controversy. Bute was a legitimate opponent, albeit not as good as touted, and Froch fared exceptionally well so all credit to him. People claiming that Froch took his soul which is why he looked poor against Grachev and Pascal, are nothing but speculating honestly. I don't think Bute was ever good enough to beat Pascal at any point in his career and also, Grachev's iron-chin inside fighting style was always going to be a problem for Bute.

Ward beats Bute No question .

But i doubt Ward manhandles Bute the same way he did Kessler .

Because Kessler got manhandled and was never in the fight .

Edwin Rodriguez gave a better performance than Kessler .

Yep. Roy Jones Jr didn't exactly look great after he got KO'd either. Same with Jermaine Taylor.

Bute was sometimes overrated, but not to the degree some people are now saying. Being a quick, mobile boxer-puncher surely gave him a style for the elite level. His problem was that he never responded well to getting hit. It's not that his chin was bad (it wasn't), it's that he would lose his head instead of keeping it cool like the real champions do. Also he was never good at holding which is necessary for his style and could've helped him a lot against Froch for example.

I believe that Bute vs. Ward would have been interesting when it was supposed to happen.
