i love how people care about the money that fighters make. i'm sure they're grateful for your concern on the financial side of things.

more and more fake boxing fans make excuses for the weak in the sport. i think it has something to do with them having weakness in common with the "fighters"

no wonder the sport has turned into ****. and things will get worse due to these "fighters" and these so called "fans"

  2. You know who doesn't think Kovalev is overrated?
People who know more about boxing than you...like Adonis Stevenson.:D

You are correct, who the **** is Kovalev? If he was any good he would at least have a strap and a few known scalps, but he has none. What a waste!:patsch

Kovalev beating bums and over the hill guys means what exactly? Sure I wanted to see him fight Stevenson, but you can't fault Stevenson for going with the money. If Kovalev is still around he can also fight Stevenson when his contract with Main Events is up. In the meantime Kovalev can keep fighting prospects, bums, and over the hills guys, while claiming Stevenson is running from him.

People have selective memory also. Recall, he went for Cleverly, instead of fighting Hopkins.

I bet you most of them are poor and made excuses for every failure in their life. That's the type of people who would defend cowards like Stevenson.

They've gotten so good at making excuses, they start making them for other people.

The Super 6 was a corrupt disaster IMO. No more tourneys that take 2 years to play out with so much controversy and fighters dropping out inbetween.

If by "honest dollar", you mean your line of work cleaning out septic tanks, then Yes, you are correct.
I do business, but not cleaning out other people's bizness. :yep

Kovalev became Hopkins' mandatory, but Hopkins refused to fight him, so Kovalev went into Cleverley's home town and knocked him out for the WBO title. He knew that Hopkins would ever fight him. Hopkins said he would never fight Kovalev or Stevenson.

Showtime can't have a real tournament without Kovalev.............

Well, at least that means Hopkins and Stevenson are guaranteed to fight at some point. Just trying to be positive here.

I always work for less money than I can get, its simply the smart thing to do.

You think we don't want them to fight? Of course we do. Acting like you wouldn't take more money is just dumb though. Its certainly disappointing from a fan's perspective, but I understand it. It's a sport to us. It's a job to the fighter. You have to think about making the most money you possibly can, before you worry about legacy. The guy is already old. He needs to make as much money as he can for the short time period he has in the spotlight. I wish boxing didn't have different promotions/networks and the major leagues were under one banner (like UFC) Then we could get the fights that made sense from a sporting perspective. Unfortunately, that is not the way it is.

On a different note, I have to say that this whole "tournament" word is being thrown around pretty liberally. I guess it technically is, but having the winners of two fights going against each other isn't usually what i think of when thinking of a tournament. The Pacquio/Bradley and Marquez/Alvarado fights are also part of a "tournament" I guess.

Like Bute was interested anyway. There were times during the tournament were fighters left(Kessler, Dirrell, Taylor) and Bute still showed zero interest in joining in.

Well except Kovalev appears to be the real deal whereas Bute was totally exposed.

Espinoza and Showtime going quickly down the drain.Do they really expect people to buy this horse **** without the Krusher?
They have lost the definition of credibility.
