Why Boxing Fans Hate Andre Ward So Much

If you could see his drivers license, or his birth certificate, it wouldn't say no "mixed" race. It would say African American or black. Irish would be no where to be found. :yep

 

You should check the Green fight, that one made the Kessler fouling look like kidsplay.
The disgraceful referee was completely there to look out for Ward's interests and poor Allen Green even got warned for trying to break out of Ward's armclinch while he was hitting him with the other one.

 

I think Ward has one of the best resumes in the sport right now.

 

You are in denial on how the US classifications work. The US census has no "Irish" , "Scottish", or European classification. You should know.
You fill out "White" or Caucasian even though your mother was stepping out with that Aborigine fellow. :yep

I don't. I'm just telling you how it is in America. Ward is seen as a Black man in America. I have many mixed friends hell my child's mother is half Black and half Mexican but on her birth certificate it says Black.

 

I've never seen a picture of his father.

 

I don't 'hate' Andre Ward in the slightest and I think when I've watched box that he's looked sublime at times. However I do have a problem with his attitude and his own sense of self-importance. After his last fight he said he would wait and see who called him out next but what he seems to want is to be able to say "right, you called me out and you want to fight me so you can come and fight me at my weight and under a set of conditions of my choosing"!! I know he's not the only boxer with that attitude but it is an attitude that does the sport no favors and does not endear the fighter to hardcore boxing fans let alone the casual fan. For me that's where some of this 'hatred' comes from...

 

You seem to be the only one having a problem with Ward being black.

 

Andre Ward is a cheater and a smug, selfish prima donna.

1. He refuses to do random drug testing

2. He demanded to have all his Super Six fights in his home country

3. He holds, hits off the break, hits while holding, deliberately head butts while his crooked California refs smile

4. He wouldn't agree to a catch weight for Dawson, and demanded the fight be in his home town of Oakland

5. He calls out boxers from smaller divisions like Mayweather and GGG, but refuses to move up to 175

Im a fan of Ward . When he destroyed Kessler and exposed him i fell in love with him .

Lately hes starting to turn me off . Especially when he said recently he had no interest in fighting Stevenson, GGG, Sergey Kovalev , Hopkins because they do anything for his legacy .

Then exactly what other fighters is going to help his legacy !?? .

Wards next fight better be huge , if not i gotta call him out and trash him .

Hopefully we dont have ANOTHER naturally gifted fighter ducking Risky fights in our hands .

BTW i believe Stevenson is the biggest threat to Ward out of all those names .
