Not when he holds all the belts.

Leapai isn't a legit mando and neither was Boystov. That fight was a 10 rounder 3 slots down on an undercard. Nobody forced him to fight Leapai. He was a patsy who got lucky.

If he doesn't fight Pulev next he deserves to be striped and he can no longer call himself a champion.

I've never before seen a fighter catch so much crap for staying busy... so his stay busy fight also happens to be a mandatory. Are we that spoiled during Wlad's reign that we forget the days of the Champs who fought once every 15 months?

I'd rather see wlad fight Lepai now than have him sit around for 6 more months trying to get a fight with Pulev arranged... Where is Pulev going? does he have an expiration date? Look Wlad will get to him soon enough don't be in such a rush to get KO'd

So if Ashley Theopane managed to wrangle his way into a mandatory position liked Leapai did, you'd be OK with floyd fighting him?

The mandatory excuse doesnt hold up when everyone knows you are number 1. Wlad doesnt need the WBO belt to give himself credibility.

Because titles in the year 2014 are complete bull**** and very few people actually care about them??

The sanctioning bodies and their rankings have all the legitimacy of a Burmese general election.

Excuse me for wanting to see actual top fighters fight each other rather than watch the tops guys in the division fight van drivers who managed to wrangle a title shot by fighting for micky mouse regional belts for the right organisation.

Alex leapai isnt even a top 30 fighter in the HW division, he got stopped by Kevin "I dont even throw punches" Johnson and you think this is a legitimate fight because some guy in an office at the WBO says so???
    Seriously??

This right here!!^^^ The WBO paper trinket has no meaning or value. In fact it costs Wlad money by paying its sanctioning fees. Its a joke fight, and anyone trying to defend it as a mandatory is simply gullible or not a true fan of the SPORT.

These Ktards don't know **** about Klitschko along with boxing.

When Byrd took the WBO belt from Vitali he was forced to fight Wlad. Wad wasn't his mando.

Wlad has a very good rapport with the WBO. They would never strip him. They gave him an easy mando defense with Boystov. How did Boystov get to #1??

K2 has currupted HW boxing. oNE DOWN , ONE TO GO.

Would Wlad not be the heavyweight champion of the world without the WBO title or any other ABC title for that matter, until he Loses?

And don't kid yourself, any real boxing fan knows once Wlad is gone there is nothing left in the division. Its not about color, its about a crap era.

Wlad wants total unification. For as many fans that constantly complain about too many belts out there, it makes no sense not to support a fighter who's after that goal.

Part of that means he's got mandatories to deal with. Pulev will get his shot.

The WBC is booked out. Wlad will be 40 before he ever gets a shot.

    That dream is over.

Wlad never became undisputed because he wasted all his time fighting his own sparrining partner and fought patsys for the useless WBO belt.:rofl

So its racist to say that the number 1 fighter in the division should not be fighting a guy who is not in the top 30??

Floyd is getting **** for fighting another title holder!

Really, another thread bitching about this fight?

Lepai beat a RING top 10 fighter which is more than most in the current Ring top 10 have done. Wilder, Boystov, Arreola, Fury, Helenius, Chisora..etc. can't make such a claim.

Lepai is #28 on boxrec, not #38. What rankings are we even going by?

Belts don't mean much to SOME boxers. Mayweather has no problem dumping his to make higher $ fights. However Vlad has repeatedly expressed the goal of holding all the belts at once to be the Undisputed Champ. Now that his brother is out, he has a chance if he doesn't start dropping the belts he already has.

Not to mention that unlike Mayweather, there is not even a significant pay jump for him to go with Pulev over his mandatory. A little maybe, but Pulev is hardly a household name yet with casuals.
