Yeah that is was did me too! Marciano was 8-4 as an amateur, but 2-1 before turning pro. But jas likes to keep us honest by getting one question wrong in each quiz. Technically two this time though, as a fighter has a '20 count' to get into the ring when they fall out, not '20 seconds'... But thanks for putting the effort in mate.:yep
how many of y'all are using google? be honest. i always thought using google doesnt make it as fun , not to mention making it pointless
I have done one based around the Heavyweight division in the 1980s: http://www.quizyourfriends.com/take-quiz.php?id=1403281458509386&a=1&
You got to make questions google proof, if you do not want people to cheat. But most of your questions were pretty easy for someone on the Classic forum.
yea, i often didnt go for the common sense answer, instead electing to go for the "odd one out" so to speak
Quite happy with my totals except for in the 4th quiz very sloppy that not paying attention and paid the price . And in one of the quizzes put the wrong answer as the Leon spinks / Michael spinks through me . ( bill Clinton )
OK: 1: Holmes fought Michael Spinks in 85 in an attempt to equal Marciano's 49-0, thus he was 48-0 going in. 2: Bomber was a nickname Frank Bruno used (do not believe me? Go to Youtube and watch the introductions to Bruno/Eklund). TNT was the nicknames of both Tubbs and Tucker, and of course there was only one James 'Bonecrusher' Smith. This is a quiz about 80s Heavyweights, and Tyson did not fight 'Razor' Ruddock until the 90s... 3: 'It' was the Commonwealth title, held by Notice in 87. 4: Akinwande won two ABA titles in the 80s, Bruno one, Lewis fought as a Canadian as an amateur. 5: Marvis Frazier won his crown in 79, all the rest in the 80s. 6: Quick Tillis and Pinklon Thomas were the two fighters to fight both Tyson and Holyfield as pro's in the 80s. 7: The Dynamic Duo was the promotional title for Lewis and King's partnership that was meant to lead to a Summer 87 Tyson/Spinks unification fight. They fell out, and we had to wait another year for the fight. 8: Damiani was the first and only WBO Heavyweight title holder in the 80s. 9: Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Leon Spinks, Norton, Holmes and Tate all fought in the 80s. The only WBA/WBC title holder of the 70s not to was Jimmy Ellis. 10: On July 21 1989, in the Convention Centre, Atlantic City: Tyson beat Carl Williams, Page beat Charles Woolard, Lennox beat Bruce Johnson, but Oliver McCall lost a fight to future Heavyweight Champion of the World James 'Buster' Douglas.
