If Kovalov want to really make a statement he should jump to Showtime. Right now its business as usual in boxing. If he did that and Stevenson ran....well that a whole other story. ;)

It wasn't what he said as much as how he said it. It seemed like it slipped out, like an after-thought that he didn't mean to actually vocalize. And then he follows it up with "sorry for my English". The whole thing was just classic. Kovalev is a cool dude who speaks genuinely, and people relate to that.

I don't see why Stevenson would suddenly want to fight Kovalev after watching the Agnew fight. It's not like Agnew won a single round. He was knocked down several times and was KOed by a JAB to the body. Agnew was more in survival mode than fight mode. He basically kept his gloves welded to his head and didn't throw anything aggressively because he was afraid of being countered. Kovalev may have been busted up but that was more from being fouled than anything else. Agnew was scared and so is Stevenson.

This is his attempt to rile up Adonis into fighting him. He is calling the guy out.

Kovalev jaw is still suspect. If he got ko'd by a good left in amateur then imagine's adonis Left. I hope he proves me wrong but I just dont see sergey winning vs adonis. Too much talk I want to see this fight please.

As true as that is the same story is business. Unless you can command ala Floyd or Pacquiao a fighters management will take them to the best place to make or keep making money. I doubt Stevenson is scared of Kovalov, I really do. But his management just might be. This is the problem with so many orgs....fighters (champions) can avoid other fighters (champions) till the cows come home. If its not just business than drop a belt and jump ship to get the fights you want. Win those and you can command the ship. We all want this fight, and the fighters can say whatever to save face or make themselves look better, but the bottom line is business rules. Personally I blame it on the BS orgs and gullible fans buying into bogus world championships. Narrow this crap down and this fight either happens or someone gets stripped. Until then its business as usual in today's boxing world.
