As much stick as Khan gets on here, he'd absolutely take Gavin to school. It'd go exactly the same way as when King Khan fought McCloskey. He's a year older than King Khan and what has he achieved? Levels.

He was a lot better than he looked on paper, it was a strange "knockdown", and Gavin showed some real class at times

but again you just get the feeling he has so much more

It was a weird knockdown, almost like a shove rather than a clean punch. Gavin looked a little shocked by the lads speed power in the first few rounds and it's the first time he took a few decent shots mainly to the body. BUT he did take them we'll generally speaker and at absolute most the kid won 2 rounds, he was hitting fresh air for most of the fight and Gavin's footwork moving off the ropes his first class. He lacks zip in his punches and I wish sometimes he'd throw more when the other guy is back on the ropes. As someone said it's almost like he's too perfect and won't throw one unless he's 100 per cent sure it'll get through. I wouldn't write him off too much though, he still has amazing boxing Ability.

He was knocked down, but it was either:

    a) At worst a flash knock down. He was completely unperturbed & looked clear / lucid / fine.

    b) It was a shoulder push that caught him off balance that was ruled a knock down.

Ringside seemed to think it was B.

Whatever the case, it wasn't really that significant.

Gavin pretty much won every single round and in the later part of the fight (6 onwards) made the African miss badly.

I thought it was a good fight. Gavin was a class operator.

No doubt in my mind it was a proper knockdown. But Gavin got up and handled it well. The lad was better than anybody gave him credit for,but he's an African so not surprising. They're nearly all tough,it seems. I would say just below Bundu level, would make a good fight with Brooks last opponent.
Gavin carries his right hand low,and has a tendency to lean forward sometimes and expose his chin. I wonder what happens when he meets somebody better than this lad. Tough as he was, theres plenty of them.

Was caught slightly off balance with a shot and in the same breath pushed with a shoulder. Could have been either. Even if it was a KD, Frank looked completely fine straight away, and wasnt even looking ruffled in the next 20/30 secs after it.

Won the fight at a canter really after an early couple of close rounds. And by close I wouldnt say he was shipping shots, just maybe not taking complete control of the round so could've been given either way.

All things considered, a decent opponent from Namibia who'd never fought outside of Africa (so presumably footage was sparse) whom was probably a little underated by most. A first KD against him with he recovered fully from straight away, and another 12 rounds in the bank. Lots of positives to be gained. Hope he doesnt wait around for another fight like that and just gets Bundu straight off. Still believe he'd beat Brook impressively!

For what it's worth, it looked like a pretty clean knock down to me. I think some people are a bit swayed by the commentary - which was less sure at the time.

Clean knockdown no drama got up got the W.

As another poster said khan beats Gavin I agree as Brook does too. Gavin for me isn't good enough at that level.

No basis for that opinion at the moment I'd say. You really have to reserve judgement until we see him step up - I always get the impression he's just coasting half the time; finds it far too easy. Technically he's superb - I'm eager to see how that translates at the world / elite level.

Gavin did get put down,he got up and boxed beautifully to get a win.The African lad reminded me of one of the many unknown foreign fighters who come over here cause an upset and subsequently go onto do well at world level he was good and it was a good win for Gavin.
