US Boxing Is About to rebound with quality

    I never cared for Bute, but I see talent in both Kovalev and GGG and enjoy watching them. I'm as American as they come, so their nationality has nothing to do with it. I think America has many great champions and up and coming fighters. I think we have some of the best in the world, so I don't think there is any warranted fear that we will be overtaken by these ex-soviet fighters. If GGG was a welterweight, I would take Mayweather to beat him. If Ward were a LHW, I'd take him over Kovalev. If anything, they will push America to up our game, and maybe focus a little more on technique and the technicalities of boxing. These things are taught a little more loosely in American gyms than over there.

    Styles make fights.

    Fighters learn to adapt to different fighting styles. That's what really separates the p4p greats from the rest.

    Mayweather and Ward deserve their p4p status mainly because they both have fought opponents with varying styles, adapted, and won.

    Last night we observed a fighter with limited skills not be able to adapt to his opponent's style.

    Try to take the nationalism out of Froch, Bute, GGG or Klitscho and see how far you get. :yep

    Why hasn't it happened with the heavyweight division (other than because of the NFL).

    It probably will effect HW also, but right now the division is foght in Germany/Russia and Americans ignore that division.

    Do you think English fan nationalism encourages English fighters such as Hatton when he came over to face mayweather, and the English fans in the audience sang their anthem over the US anthem?

    Dude you're such a joke, it's unbelievable. You have no self respect at all. If you score 3 KDs, stop in opponent in 7 without losing a round, that's not being able to adapt to a style? Is that like Ward being unable to adapt to drained Dawson's style that night?

    Do you think I think English nationalism is any less ******ed, than any other form of nationalism.

    The fact is that pro boxer bet in the ring,and fight for themselves. They do it for them, and dont give a **** what color is on the flagpole across the ring from them.
